I can really recommend taking a few bricks and wrapping them, if you need some cheap weights. We had some behind the garden shed left over.

At the end, you don’t glue the spine to the text block?

No 😊 If you do you ight not be able to open your book anymore

Hairspray has acid in it so that means it will slowly break down the paper over the decades. I find that if you water down PVA glue and use it for your first layer that it is easier. Still new to the technique so you may want to experiment.

I used photo paper which is much more difficult 😭 Didn’t turn out exactly right but I think its pretty close! If I just try a few more times I bet I can get it down.

This tutorial validates my artsy skills to be applied to bookbinding. Also, I'm glad you highlighted the 'imperfections' and that there are always solutions for them instead of just repeating back to the first step. Thank you so much!

Im not sure I understand the part with the printed flowers on the transparent foil (I understood the golden part though)…I just don’t get how you print on the transfer foil Please help meeee
@extracozydiy3 күн бұрын
It is a transfer paper for light fabric I found in a dollar store near me. you can print on it with a regular inkjet pinter and transfer it to your fabric with an iron. Normally it is mostly for t-shirts or so but i used it for my book.

If you want to skip the first couple steps, you can get two cutting boards that are the right size (: it might not be as cheap, but if you don't have access to a table saw a couple cutting boards work just fine!

Lovely tutorial. Why is it important to printe the covers one three separate sheets? If it is possible to print the whole cover on one paper (based on size of book) would it make a difference?

As others have said I would definitely suggest making book sleeves so that you can change the covers according to your mood and also I would draw on the inside ( like you do on some of your other books ) to really make them yours. Also, you could draw on the paper sides with gold or use foil to make littles designs like birds or sth so you can fit the ravenclaw aesthetic and colour. These are probably suggestions you may have already considered 🤷🏽♀️ 😅
