Aloha Victor what is your bonsail soil mix I see potting mix perlite lava rock crushed is the grey material vermiculite

Aloha, I used Potting Mix, Perlite, Sand, Red Lava Rock. If you find anything is good for drainage, you can feel free to replace.
@andreasvasiliou6453Ай бұрын
Hi, could you please let us know the dimensions of the two frames? Thank you.
@victorhe7200Ай бұрын
@@andreasvasiliou6453The inner size of the big one is round 9x12 inches. and the small is 5.5 x7.5 inches. I left some room for cutting off the rough edges. So I can choose to leave the rough edges or cut the finished paper down to 8.5x11, 8x10, 5x7 or 4x6 with clean edges.
Aloha Victor beautiful work I will give this one a trial I made a bucket for planter wishing well which I cut 15 degree angles on both sides of the redwood pickets I used to make my project I have a bunch of pine 2x4s that are not actually 1.5 x 3.5" because ends are factory bad, so I'll see what width i can get it as straight as possible

做的不错,UP 这桌子买材料花费多少钱呢?
@victorhe72008 ай бұрын

Can you tell me how that angle is calculated???
@victorhe720011 ай бұрын
I used SketchUp to create the model first. Depends on the thickness of the wood and the side of the pot. You can play around the number of segments of a circle in Sketchup, then give it the thickness you want. Then measure the angle from there.

Your box designs are elegant. Perhaps you can try with a mesh floor such as this: i have made many like this and they can last for many years without the floor rotting away. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXeZhICCjNRjoLs

A great quality video but boy does it need some narration there is so much I question as to sizes etc.There is no way i could do this with guess work as a beginner
@TOEC Жыл бұрын
I know this is an older video, but while there are a lot of good box/finger joint sled designs out there, I really appreciate this one as it resolves two specific points in sled design that often can get overcomplicated. First, at 0:43, the way the back fence is set up makes it much less work to ensure that the fence is perpendicular to the saw kerf. Instead of having to mess with the 5 cut method etc. which can involve fine adjustments, this design relies on cutting the base of the sled square, and then works from there. Second, at 1:35, using sandpaper or shims in order to ensure that the miter bars are a snug fit before gluing also saves the time and frustration of having to trim a piece of wood several times to get that perfect fit.

Bonsai pots are very expensive. Good idea to make them out of wood. The only issue is that wood rot when you water plants. I suppose that can be addressed with using pressure treated lumber.

Love this I know it's been posted years ago... I just ran across it though and need new bonsai pots due to a few cracking this winter gonna start building a few of these this weekend!!!
