Great work! But did you not install back the latch/lock? I'm afraid it's not secured enough to prevent being detached midcut.

Looks pretty simple to make. Think I’ll have to make one as well. I must say that you putting the first cut through the zero clearance was a first that I’ve seen. Usually all the others raise their blades into it. But as I could see yours wasn’t screwed in yet.

The reason I cut through the back was I wanted to keep my thin kerf riving knife on the saw. I didn't add a lock device to lock the plate, I don't see any problem so far. Because I only use zero clearance only when I need to prevent the small pieces falling down to the saw.

Did you have an issue with the motor housing hitting the insert plate with the blade fully raised? Did the standard insert plate have a cut-out for this?

Yes, but mostly of the time I used it for cutting small pieces. You can use chisel or router to thin that area down.

Very nice and simple design. Thank you Victor! I just completed one very similar to that using 1/2 inch plywood. I had to sand the plywood on both sides to get it to the thickness of the original insert (don't have a planer). What size of leveling screws did you use?

Thank you. I don't know what size the screw called. I used what I had. The length without the screw head is 3/8 in. Including the head is 15/32 in. Screw head diameter is 15/64 in.
