almost anyone can be "trained" to shoot a compound bow, you have to "learn" to shoot a trad bow of any sort. todays attitude and expectations of "instant gratification " have fueled the compound bows appeal. like it or not there's very little skill or mental faculties involved in compound archery. I don't make fun of them I shoot one but only rarely and for certain hunting scenarios. The reason people don't shoot traditional equipment has nothing to do with technology, take away their sights and range finders and you have a fancier machine that flings a pointy stick just like a longbow or a recurve 😮. Tim Wells has proven this a million times 😊 it's "cheating" in a sense that you're not relying on your mind and body to learn the physics of the sport. No compound archer can effectively shoot without the "crutches" lol ask any of them to shoot without them and you'll hear a million excuses as to why they can't , the number one reply is almost always " the bow is not designed to be shot in that manner" 😂😂

Thank you for this review. You might just have swayed me towards this PSE. Could you tell me if this version is the black one or the charcoal one? It's hard to guess from the PSE-website and this video.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the archers paradox describe the bending or flexing of the arrow caused by the force of the release of the string, which makes the arrow wobble side to side until the speed gains advantage and straightens out the further it travels? If I'm correct, then that would make eastern vs western shooting styles irrelevant and only problem is that most won't put in the time to practice to become proficient at this difficult technique.

How to tell if the noc is not placed correctly -- watch your arrow flight. If the back of the arrow is bobbing up and down (porpoising) then your noc is too low. If your arrow is flying straight on the vertical axis, the noc is right. If the back of your arrow is bobbing from side to side then your arrow is the wrong spine (needs stiffer) or your arrow rest needs alignment.

Hi Jim, my thoughts as you’re a trad archer, need to get more stick and string archers in to talk to, not recurve or laminates but proper self bows, an absolute coup would be yourself and Kevin Hicks if he visits the UK 🏹

These “ wings?” are a great idea IMO. HAVE to careful about adjusting them so you don’t impart any torquing to the string though. I’ve added epoxy putty to my Carter Wise Choice thumb at the index finger location to widen it in a similar manner of the wings. This has helped for me to get a more consistent grip it seems. It IS more comfortable.
