Sehr interessante Dokumentation! Leider schmeißen die Menschen immer noch ihren Müll ins Meer. Keine „Bewustseinsänderung“ bis jetzt 🤔 🙄

this is interesting but I don't get why the sound was so obviously out of sync by about a minute or so. I can't imagine that the original broadcast would have been like this.

Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, a natural political comedian, in Halifax October 1967, eloquently expressing his vision of a unified, inspired and educated Canada and his extreme confidence in Canadians to achieve beyond expectations, from Minute 2:48 until Minute 6:34 , with such pride, wisdom, wit and entusiasm, anthemic for liberal federalists; also promoting a national willingness to change with the times and swing like a "living tree", relying on our "roots strong and deep", a speech at the very beginning of Canada's second century since Confederation in 1867, right after the revolutionary '67 Summer of Love/Expo 67, and also mere months away from the emergence of "Trudeaumania" in 1968, and a few years away from the eventual constitutional repatriation and adoption of the Charter of Rights & Freedoms in 1982 (also a living tree), and the subsequent political implementation by successive liberal governments of Pearson's vision of our great country for decades to come. I agree with Lester, it's "good to be a Canadian".

My father is the 45 year old Acadian handsome young man introduced at Minute 24:45 (lasts only 67 seconds) of this amazing 1967 CBC-HFX video, as he was then President of the CMA, receiving his Doctorate of Laws - LLD (honoris causa) from fawning Dr. Henry Hicks, the flamboyant Dalhousie University MC, right after HRM Queen Mother's historic and heartwarming "Halifax 1967" confederation speech (Minute 15:50 to 19:30 - she receives a standing ovation), and right before the stand-up comic genius of then Nobel prize winning PM Lester Pearson (Minute 26:25 - see Part 4 for remainder). Earlier in this video, you can see my Pop sitting two seats to the left of then NS Premier Robert Stanfield, who was sitting silently next to HRM Queen Mother.

Wow....mid to late 70's early AM childhood memories ...memories of hearing this music play downstairs in the living room and smelling the black coffee Dad was brewing before leaving for the Base ...those opening credits (along the music) fascinated me as a kid ....i actually had this music on a old mp3 player a few yrs ago ..also had it imported into my PS3 NHL game (for face off music)

I used to watch this as a kid ,getting up at 6 am and lovin it.My favorite was on Plate tuetonics which led to a realization about a concept known as ''Shelf Collapse'', involving the partial collapse of the Continental Shelf.Similarly i had a hallucination in 1984 while on S5 NSH whereby looking out the window of the S5 unit everything in the Halifax harbour was under water including York Redoubt.

Whoever put this together has a real sense of humor. You can tell that this was clearly an influence on SCTV. But to be fair to these guys they never trained to be TV hosts. They were no doubt seconded to do these shows and would have rather not gone on TV at 6 AM! Maybe an appearance on UOTA was considered the same as getting a paper published or something. At the very least I hope they made a few extra bucks for their trouble! Now the real question is: when are these coming to DVD? For all the kidding around, lots of people remember waking up to this show with its terrifying opening credits and sometimes surreal lectures.

I remember when this show aired on CFQC Saskatoon at 6 AM. I was about 6 or 7. The opening credits scared the heck out of me.
