💯🔥👍unreal. He had to stop him to make him stop killing his body. A damn movie.

Lot's of fouls from Gomez, first hitting after the fighter was already in the canvas that is not disqualification? also putting the globe on the face of the other boxer I remember Maromero used to do that and was not legal, the ref was not in the shape to stop the fighter to count in the knock downs. Wilfredo won easy, Zarate never used a good jab to set the distance that was better for him and Wilfredo was not wasting enegy he was just pulling the trigger when he had a good shoot

Obviously, Joe Frazier was a more aggressive fighter than Quarry, constantly moving forward and putting pressure on his opponent. But I always wonder how different the Fight of the Century would’ve turned out had Ali used more footwork and danced like he did in this fight. He looked very much like the Ali of ‘66-‘67 here. I know his strategy was to go all 15 rounds against Frazier so he didn’t want to tire himself out to early but it’s still interesting to imagine.

What's funny is that Ken Norton beat Muhammad Ali twice. :) What's amazing is that Ali was able to withstand the barrage of punches from Foreman, and that deserves respect. STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!

I will say that although Hopkins style was never pretty but it was effective. He had arguably the best lead right hand in boxing. If he didn't use his head as a weapon following the lead straight or over-hand right, it would be on the same level as Mayweather and James Toney.

Bernard was a great champion, but he was a dirty fighter on the inside. I think if he learned how to wrestle with all the grappling, he does he'd might have been a decent MMA fighter.

I saw this at a live pay per view event in an event center and when Tommy hit Duran with that KO punch it was like the air escaped the building. Lots of attendees apparently lost some bets. Tommy excelled. Duran, however, had several obstacles he couldn’t overcome. Tommy’s reach and age advantage. Duran needing to lose too much weight. A slippery canvas that kept him off balance. Getting cut early. Tommy’s continuance of his retribution tour after that heartbreaking loss three years earlier to Sugar Ray. -What a stunner of a fight-

Anybody else tired of Tarver's trainer saying look at me? Dude either your breath stinks or he just doesn't want to hear from you lol!!! Tarver looked scared as the rounds went on. When Hopkins started charging him, Tarver would just ball up.

I can't help but think that Zarate would have beaten Gomez in a similar fashion to what Sanchez did to Gomez had he not been suffering from the flu. It's clear as day Zarate wasn't 100% right from the opening bell.

Hopkins definitely wasn't in his prime here. Hadn't had enough experience in boxing yet, his prime began more or less in the late 90s/early 2000s when he got better against better competition and then proceeded to knockout a p4p fighter in Trinidad.
@Bankai_Musashi12 ай бұрын
Yeah, he was solid here but it's hilarious Jones fans try to argue someone who hadn't even won a fuckln world title yet was somehow in his prime compared to his middleweight reign where he knocked out 2 hall of famers

Duran would intimidate fighters with his stare but before this fight I think Duran looked into Hearns eyes and at how much bigger Hearns was and realized he was in over his head. Duran fought like he was scared. He was never the same after this fight.

They talk about Roy as if he might not have the right strategy or not know what he’s doing? And then they offer what they might tell a boxer who is fighting Roy. Well, he knew exactly what he was doing, and good luck with offering another boxer advice.
