was the oil leaking down to the bottom bolt of your water pump ? I am having a similar problem
@renitententity2086
@renitententity2086 Ай бұрын
I have had two leaks so far and now have a third it seems every leak I fix creats a new one 😅 Essentialy I had one to the bottom bolt of water pump and that was the easiest (i have a video of me replacing the water pump) The oring on the water pump had gone. The secon one was the output shoft seal so I replaced both of them, and this fixed that but now I have a new leak that seems to be going directly onto the shaft somehow but thsi is more that likely a me thing. I have with a specilist to diagnose just s that I dont waste time replacing somthing I dont need to but if I was you, I would clean the area then inspect the water pump, then inspect output shaft anf gear position sensor (gear postition sensor is what i have not done yet but its the most common issue)

Nvm I was able to get it off. It's weird just requires some wiggling and maneuvering up and down until it comes loose. I also saw someone take the two screws off of the face of the water pump and remove it that way. I went for a test ride and I didnt tighten the water pump hose enough causing it to pop off and my bike was running at 285 degrees f. Smh

Not a bad attempt, im no expert but i was tought by a mate who was a breke technician and he advised me to use red rubber grease onlong the slider pins (but not the end of the pin) that sit within the rubber boots and copper grease on back of pads where it will make contact with caliper and on the clip as you did. 👍
@renitententity2086

Yeah I probably went over board but key is just not to get the stuff on the front of the pad. I just like the copper grease because it seems to stay on longer, I use the red grease for axel and bearings when they don't come in contact with moisture but yeah the red grease could be better but just use what ever you have to hand. also is it bad that I saw a drop of coolant at the bottom of that expansion tank where that hose comes out?
@renitententity2086
@renitententity2086 Жыл бұрын
Depends, the expansion tank would overflow if you had too much liquid or if there is an issue with the rad cap or a loose pipe. The key is you dont want the rad to be leaking, if the expansion tank leaks it will be an issue in the long run and you want some liquid to stay in it. Helps when the coolant heats up and expands and then cools it will draw liquid back in. So if it leaking eventually it will affect coolant levels
