Next time some has you feeling like you cant say "mean words" remember that these are the men who sacrificed EVERYTHING for your RIGHT to say those words. God bless the men and women fighting for the freedom our own country is taking from us.

I used to live down the street from this man in south Mobile County, Alabama... off of Fowl River. He used to buy Stromboli and pizza from me whenever my school band did fundraisers. Such a cool guy...

Being a WWII buff who later formed the WWII Historical Re-enactment Society in 1976, I well remember the day and even mention it in my book. In those days of yore one got a weekly TV Guide. I'd peruse my copy looking for those movies that I wanted to see that week. Whoa! TO HELL AND BACK is going to be on. I worked the night shift at McDonnell Aircraft. I planned to take that Monday night off. Then the news struck. Our St. Louis station played the film without commercial interruption.

The North Vietnamese, who lost face, were even more outraged when they learned that Commander Denton, in the Japanese-taped interview broadcast on American television on May 17, 1966, had blinked out “T-O-R-T-U-R-E.” It was the first confirmation that American prisoners of war were being subjected to atrocities during the Vietnam War. -New York Times
