I was watching Audie Murphy westerns during the early 50s. I collected TO HELL AND BACK (1955) many yrs. ago. I like his 1949 BAD BOY flic and the 1958 version of THE QUIET AMERICAN is an outstanding movie. I also know that he was MAJOR AUDIE MURPHY of the Texas National Guard during his later yrs.

This young rural man enlisted in the U.S. military to support his family! He was rejected by all the other branches and finally got in the U.S. Army!😊 Recruiter did not think much of him because of his size.😂 In combat, he was a super leader of men!😮

Agreed. But there is one thing he lied if I am not mistaken but it does not really matter. He had one of his family member his sister I guess to make a fake document to show that he is old enough to enlist which I dont think he was. But he did it for America and other Allied countries and its innocent people fighting Germany during WW2 so it does not really matter. Correct me if I am wrong. But ya I still agree with u.

@@dallasyap3064 I am a 2nd cousin of Audie's. The story I was always told was that his older sister had to sign a waiver for him to join due to his age. His parents were not a factor & his sister was head of the family. He supported the rest of them (11) with his Army pay & tried to keep the family together. I am a 12 yr veteran myself & very proud of our common heritage. He & my dad were cousins & my dad was older by 3 yrs. He also fought in WWII. Unfortunately, my dad was in the "aftermath crew" that pulled into Auschwitz Concentration Camp just a few hours after the Germans high-tailed it out of there. It was not a pretty site (I have old photos), and my dad did not talk about the war much. My dad also grew up in Farmersville, TX.

@@kimstayt8967 I am truly sorry that you're father had to see something like Auschwitz. It's hard to believe things like this happen. My grandfather and five of his brother's served in WWII. My grandfather wasn't in action thank God. All the women in the family told me that they all came home different. Audie Murphy means alot to me, I think he kinda represents the whole generation in a way. Thanks you for your service? From Andy

@@andyZ3500s Thanks Andy. I'd join again if I had the choice. I am still appreciative that there are people who remember who Audie was & what he did for this country. I'm afraid the list of people who do, is dwindling. It will be a sad day when that happens. I have the original snapshot photos documenting what they found at Auschwitz when they marched in. My dad said the Germans had only been gone 2 hrs or less. It is sickening to see what they saw & imagine the stench. Sorry to be graphic but, many, many large piles of bodies still steaming. How horrendous! Thank you for your kind words about Audie.

Continued With great respects to my fellow members in Military Uniform as they all have sworn to protect this Nation from enemies foreign or domestic regardless of whom within its own domestic realm it is responsible to face those enemies. Myself knowing this & greater to be true from my serving my country & the more so from being proud of my heritage as Americas First Family Honor Roll it goes very deeper my love for Country, Duty & Honor! With all due respects to the CIC & his long years of schooling he has not any of these values knowing these Honors mentioned above military life service or Honors of being of Americas founding fathers in Mind, Heart & Soul. His ambitions were to become president & make this Nation a nation for all people's rights and privileges without respects to A Nation Under One God with Liberty & Justice for all. A subdivided view where every thing goes that works for all to include what is unjust in Gods eyes of evils that get into people's. Continued...

+1BlueStarRising Continued I too could have lost it with this soldier as the policemen do, but I spent my time going to church with family & I always respected my fellow soldiers with Gods pure love! We are only able as Christians to get angry at the evil that gets into humans so every one came to me writing statements when he accused me of violating his human rights (keep every one awake after 10 p.m. throwing their beer bottles &Cigarettes buts to the grown.)Oh yes his black Sgt. Major had me already written up with violating his civil rights & was going to charge me with false claims. I saw worse things like being denied promotion to SSGT E-6 by a black Sgt.Major of the board. Simply we are abused by their bad experiences or just for fun. like grow up already people as we've no slave owners in these days !!! It's a problematic issue that needs proper addressing. Our president is selling out our Domestic securities in this Nation! How would Maj. Murphy feel now🇺🇸❓

For all the hard work , dedication, loyalty and sacrifice, America's vets are still treated like shit by the govt. bookkeepers . The US govt. has an insurance policy on all active service grunts in the military. If you come back in a body bag , they get 10 million buks per cadaver....what do the poor families get ?...answer__next to SFA. That's how much the govt cares about its men and women who are disposable pawns.

+Alba Whiteman My same thoughts, I mean the majority of enlisted are used to grease the wheels of Arm Chair Generals politics. I thank those that signed the petition, but dam that was a lot of Generals and a lot of our military budget that just got displayed while the enlisted person is living in a Cut-Throat operation just to make the next grade. But, the part that really kills me is if you do make your 20 more years of faithful service your retirement pay get taxed, that should be a bonus for serving 20+ years. If we can send millions and billions to other so-called Allies nations then we sure as hell can waive taxing those that did so much for so many.

@coyote1944 I appreciate the comment. Hard fought isn't even the word for this one. I worked on this for about 7 years and I have never found any petition anywhere that has as much gravitas as this one has. I did send it to the President Obama and his administration and never even received an acknowledgment or a thank you. I never got around to sending it to the President Trump or his administration as I was in the middle of a long protracted 4-year divorce. I've just recently wound that business up, and plan to renew my efforts. I don't think we're dead in the water yet. Let's see what the future brings. Again thanks for your interest and your comment.
