If Washington is just going to all in on OV's chase for the record, then having an offensive minded player on the team like Skinner might make a lot of sense. I think the nhl and other sports need to go back to it being a judgement call and fans need to live with the decisions that are made by a human there. if its too close to call, then its too close to call. less offsides = more excitement and more goal scoring. theres nothing more deflating than getting a goal called back over a tiny offside margin or one that happend far ahead of the goal scoring play. whats the point of even having linesmen on the ice then? they are just in the way. think its a discussion worth having.

I don't have a problem with buying Skinner out, but the Sabres better have a plan for replacing his offense. The team's offense last season was nothing special even with Skinner scoring 24 goals. Couture for Skinner would have to be an even swap, nothing added, given the uncertainty around Couture's health and abilities. The Sharks would be getting the more sure-fire player in Skinner, so no need to add. No to Domi - 5'10" is being extremely generous, more like 5'8".

Ruff would bench Skinner 10 games into the season. He wouldn’t put up with his lack of any effort away from the puck. Trade won’t happen so a buy out is our only option. People that know the game know he is a liability.
