Why doesn’t the site show how many mah this lithium battery is? Does anyone have this spec data? I know the original was 18mah but how much more capacity does this lithium provide?

Why does the tray have a wiring harness? Also, I have that Porter Cable drill/driver. It's a good tool!

Hi! The way you did the swap ensured that you would lose the car’s computer data by completely disconnecting your 12 volt lead acid battery. You could have used a battery pack or a jump battery to connect to your car’s 12 volt-battery cables. Then, when you did disconnect your cables from the car’s 12 volt-battery, the battery pack or a jump battery would continue supplying 12 volts to your car’s computer. Not sure why you didn’t use this simple trick.

Why close the high voltage breaker before hooking up the negative terminal? Wouldn’t it eliminate the 30 amp arcing issue that you identified if you hooked up the negative terminal before you closed the high voltage breaker??

I need to store my 2014 Volt for a couple of months and it's recommended to disconnect the negative cable. What size is that bolt? Different from all the old cars I drove. Thanks in advance.

I'm a bit concerned with the assumption that the DC-DC converter has no problems with a different battery technology. You seem very knowledgeable but I'm remembering the Dreamliner grounding due to Lithium batteries, the Samsung phone that was prohibited on airplanes for a while, and the Dell laptops that would spontaneously ignite. Can you kindly reassure me that such a conversion is approved for Tesla? How about by Tesla? I'm aware that they have shifted to Lithium in their newer cars.

I have a 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV love your report on the lithium battery..my 12v battery died on me at a bad location and had to be towed to dealership. I want to get a 12v lithium battery for my bolt but I’ve also read some negatives. Now I’m not sure. I really need some reassurance. Any help for my problem?

Bought this after an ICCU failure. Super bummed when we had another low voltage situation. Battery at 8 volts. No warning from Ohmmu. HOWEVER, the Ohmmu app saved the car with this workaround. The app allowed us to stop battery discharging when parked. Until the ICCU issue is fixed, we just stop discharging when parked. The car is a huge battery vampire even when off.

hmm i am about to do this conversion but there are some issues ive found. the car tries to desulfinate the battery every now and then, and starts its 12v charging curve with 100 amps which usually triggers a protection from the BMS. eventually the battery will stop charging and go flat after a few weeks if the car keeps trying to go into this charge mode, depending on the bms in the lifepo4 battery. also the battery may be exposed to below freezing temperatures which will either trigger a shutoff from the BMS, or cause damage/swelling to the lifepo4 battery. i think these issues can be overcome by not using a bms and relying on either top balancing by mfg/user, and maybe the occasional employment of an active 12v 4s lifepo4 balancer. also, adding a solar panel or two to the car, ~200watts should keep the battery above the voltage threshold that the car sense to start charging the 12v battery system. I think im going to build a ~3.5kwh lifepo4 battery out of 4, 280ah eve cells in series and just not run any bms. maybe put in an active balancer circuit that i turn on from time to time manually with a switch, and also by installing a 12v thermostat circuit that runs a fused 40watt rv water tank heating pad to make sure its not going below 0C/freezing temps. that plus a solar panel or two would be a good way of stopping the car from trying to charge the 12v system or causing damage. theoretically if you keep the 12v system at fully charged lifepo4 voltages, around 14-15volts, then the main traction battery should never try to charge the 12v battery (except for every month or two it tries to manually charge it for a short period of time i believe).

For those that have an Ionic6 you will need a battery when they approach 23,000 miles or less. This is the best way to go if you want to keep your car off the hook headed to the Hyundai Dealer. The original battery would be worthy of Walmart a 1 year guarantee, super cheap lead/acid….

Be adviced. According to tesla model s official service manual "different type of battery is installed than originally installed, the "12V Battery Type" configuration must be updated. ". I'd like to hear how this battery is long term in extreme cold weather climate ?

Installing the battery in my Nissan Leaf was easy. What I can't figure out is how to connect the battery to my Motorola phone running Android 10. I cannot connect my brand new Ohmmu battery to any device via Bluetooth. I have tried restarting my phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Ohmmu app. The Ohmmu app just says "Connecting..." in green across the center of the screen but it never actually connects. It just keeps spinning. I tried going into my phone's settings and pairing the battery manually and the phone simply says: "Pairing rejected by Ohmmu 3Y+." My phone connects to other Bluetooth devices without any issues. I have tried connecting to the Ohmmu battery with multiple other devices. None of these devices are Samungs. I have tried connecting to Android devices and IOS devices. None of these devices connect to my battery. I have downloaded Google Play's XiaoXiangElephant app and was unable to connect the battery using this app either. Ohmmu sent me a new battery that has the exact same issue. I've asked for a phone number to contact Ohmmu support, but they haven't provided one. This battery cost almost $500 but it doesn't work. How can I get Ohmmu to send a battery that works?

I’ve done it myself a few times now. Takes about 15 minutes and the filters are cheap on Amazon. Like $70-80. I think Tesla charges like $300-400 with labor.

how does the Ohmuu battery protect itself from overcharging? Is the BMS designed to manage incoming power? I am just worried about the charging profile of whatever charger the Rivian uses being designed for lead acid.
