Yeah the grey squirrels are mostly in the oaks in late season were i live. You can definitely see along ways at times. But it works both ways, they can also see you from along ways and will find a good hiding spot pretty often. What area do you live in and what kinda forest do you hunt? We also have red and fox squirrels but they are typically found in the evergreen pine trees or atleast in mixed hardwood/pine stands. Thanks for checking out my video!

@meatseekerАй бұрын
@@marktiffany6772 Thanks alot bud. In the early season if its hot still you can usually find them along some of the creeks. Once the acorns are really drooping they can be just about anywhere. @meatseeker2 ай бұрын
The south saluda is probably going to be the closest place to you. Look up the intersection of 11/276 the river goes under the road there and has parking and usually good fishing. The chattooga is the most beautiful river we have in my opinion, i usually fish off of burrels ford bridge road but there are a few other roads that cross it for access. If you look up scdnr trout stocking report that will tell all the rivers that have been stocked in the last week. they typically stock most of the streams so its also a list of all the rivers which will be helpful. Good luck!

You absolutely could. I have wanted to do that actually. I would recommend using the (remote) boat ramp which is the very first left hand turn when you enter the park. It will put you on the lake alot closer to were you wana be. Definitely keep an eye on the weather forecast though especially in the winter, that lake can get rough in a hurry. If your into long range there are some power lines in the gorge that you can see nearly a mile as they cut from top of the mountain down to the bottom and back up the next ridges. Pretty awesome to see if you never have, im more of a close range on foot guy. The closer the better, it gets me excited. I once had a hog running past me so close i actually had to lean back to keep the barrel off him. That experience was what made me decide to start making videos, it would have been awesome to have that on camera.

Thanks bud! The absolute easiest way to catch them is a #8 bait holder hook and night crawlers with a small split shot sinker about 10in above the hook. My favorite way is using the inline spinner like rooster tails and similar. Also the local rivers are heavily dependent on stocking so if you can seem to find the fish within about an hour try a different stream. You can google scdnr trout stocking program and it will give you a list of the streams that were stocked and the dates of stocking for the previous week. Good luck bud!
