Thanks Dan. Sometimes we hurry so much that we don't have safety foremost in our minds. I appreciate the reminder.

That’s fantastic. Everything‘s working on that can’t wait to see you out there planting and I agree with you. Some lubricant on a chain is probably better than none It’ll be interesting to see you. Make some backhoe videos too.

I captured some video of using it and that will be coming soon, my friend.

That'll be nice not having to change from corn to soybeans. You're going to need more shed space for all the new equipment purchases.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My friend Dan is pushing for me to build a lean-to on the side of my Red Shed for extra equipment storage. He's thinking like you!

Glad you liked it Cousin Scott! Are you gonna show us some bean planting down there in NC? I hope so.

Charlie, sounds like they're pretty proud of their pressure gauges. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on your planner hopefully it'll last you for quite a few years 🤞 thanks Michael

I expect the planter will last me many years at 20 or so acres per year. And yes, those pressure gauges are crazy!

We used to have a 5100 with a splitter. You can't beat the accuracy, especially in soybeans.

@@ThatOliverGuyChris Yeah, they tend to plant a row that looks consistent like a picket fence. At least that's been my experience so far.

I like that pump mount Charlie, my draw bars move around too much especially if I'm pulling a drawn implement! Great job on the fab!

Thanks! I designed it and a friend of mine (who is a better welder than me) welded it for me and cut the holes out.

That setup looks amazing behind the 1650, and I can see what you mean qith extra weight!! You had me rolling over the lost footage and your commentary 🤣🤣 Then if you hear a bunch of swearing you know it didn't go well 🤣🤣🤣 Can't wait to see this in action!! Sounds like you didn't miss your deadline on oats by much! Thank you sir for the update, and my apologies for being late! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
Yeah, not sure what dumb thing I did to lose that footage - I know you know how frustrating that is, when you go to the trouble of trying to record something, then lose it. I did put about an extra 75 pounds of counterweight in that big truck brake drum and had no problem with the tong bouncing during transport or planting. I do have video of the new planter in operation, and that will be coming up soon.

We start drying out then it rains. Seems at least 3 days a week 🤦♂️ we’ll all get it done eventually I guess
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
To my surprise, we've dried out very well. Even the wettest of the wet spots are dry now, which is unbelievable to me. It's supposed to be nice for the next couple days so I'm gonna start hammering on the corn. Never know what that big weather window is gonna slam shut.

Thanks for the update. It will be handy to have a separate planter for your beans. I agree with you on the oil for chains. We are a little damp here right now for planting, not much crop in our area, should get started shortly. Play safe.
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
It will definitely be handy having the separate planter. I no longer have to switch my other 5100 from corn to bean settings - which means changing sprockets in the transmission and also seed disks. Plus, it will take half the time to plant beans because I don't have to go over each field twice, as I did with the other 5100 planter. Hope you get dried out enough for planting to begin.
@JeffMilitello5 ай бұрын
Looks like a winner to me. Will be much handier having the 2 planters. No changing from one crop to the other. Just like having enough tractors to not have to hook and unhook all the time. Sounds petty, but sometimes time is of the essence. Mother nature doesn't always cooperate so well. Good luck with your crops this year. I think your Oats will be fine. I grew up in the Western part on NY and the clay ground we had you couldn't even start plowing until first week of May. Always had good Oats. What do you use for fertilizer on Oats?
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
It will definitely be nice having one machine for beans and the other dedicated to corn. Last year, the last thing I planted with my other 5100 was beans, so last evening I put the corn disks in it and changed the transmission around, setting it up for corn, which should be a permanent change now. Like you said, sometimes time is essential and every few minutes you save means a lot.

Looks like she's just about ready to put seeds in the ground Charlie. I'm waiting for dry weather to plant oats here but happy to be getting the moisture.
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
We've had plenty of moisture this April and it's finally drying out enough to disk and harrow for planting here. Good luck with your oats - hope you get them in soon.
@SoybeanFarmer33005 ай бұрын
I don't know anything about an air seeder. Every time you took the lid off of one of those what I think to be a seed hopper, the sound changed. Is this what actually indicates, you have air flow to that seed hopper? Had to be a good feeling when all of the hydraulics work correctly. 🙂
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
That was probably the effect on the fan as the pressure of the system dropped. When a lid from the seed box is removed, it allows the air pressure to escape. I was checking to see if air was blowing through the system in each box. The pressure is adjustable and us usually set at 2 to 2.5 inches of water for corn and soybeans. Good to hear from you, SBF.

Nice machine Charlie. I don't remember. Is that going to be a 15-in or a 18 in or a 19-in with the splitter on the back?
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm really happy with it. With the splitter, I'll plant 9 rows at 15 inch width with each pass.
@matthewdavis40815 ай бұрын
What a great looking bean planter. A few things? First will the 1650 need dauls to pull the planter better in worked ground? Is the row units a combination of finger and air? Very intriguing to me never been around a white planter. Thanks Charlie and as always looking forward to seeing it in action
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
Well, (spoiler alert - video to come) I used the planter the day before yesterday to plant all my beans and the 1650 did fine even without duals. Which is a good thing, because I don't have any. The Whites are totally air planters - forced air with brushes and seed disks - very simple but effective and accurate system. I grabbed some video of using the planter, so you'll get to see that soon.
@jankotze19595 ай бұрын
This was a great video, can you help me, does split unit means it have something to do with the four boxes in front? did you put fertilizer in that four
@pagrainfarmer5 ай бұрын
The rear of the machine is called the "splitter" because the 5 row units back there plant in between the front 4, or in other words, split them. No fertilizer goes in this planter. The fertilizer was spread on the field before planting.
