I find it hard to justifiably run any other gun than shotgun in PZ because of the massive disparity between them and any other gun early-mid game. Firstly, Bolt-actions are horrible...always. I've tried to enjoy them and make it a "character choice", the choice is to be bad when I could've been alive. The bullet passthrough is janky and hard to line-up and is worse than shell spread. The R788 only holds 4 shots, so the varmint rifle is better as you'll save on weight and have a gun that doesn't require mags to operate. .223 is a little rarer than .308 but realistically this is a personal choice between bad options so knock yourself out. if you're looking for multihit ranged weapons, they're not here. Without VFE, the bolt animation is very slow, and a jam will mean retreat/death vs close zeds. Revolvers have nearly 1/3 of the shots of the M9 and are worse pistols for beginners and experts alike. More time reloading with less time shooting. Regardless of the damage per bullet, I think the extra bullet exp per shot into aiming balances out the minor damage bonus revolvers get against the M9. Revolvers have less ammo in the world as well. Like the light rifle, revolvers don't require magazines to operate, so they get a small benefit for weight and ease of use. But, overall revolvers are downgrades due to their lack of customization options throughout the tiers and they don't rise above their standard pistol counterparts in any category. For standard pistols There's a small gap where I could justify using an m1911 above an m9 from lvl 2-6, but the DE is actually worse than the m1911 all the time. That gap passes around level 6 or 7 aiming where your critical strike chance will bring the M9 back into use, because 15 bullets is just better than 7 regardless of the average damage per shot. The crits will come, and you will be happy you have your peashooter when you one tap 8 zombies in one flurry with shots to spare. Shotguns are obviously the kings of the gun category, it's not even a contest. shotguns are commonplace in residential, police, and retail areas, being found as trunk guns, abandoned on the streets or on the backs of zombies. It's not fair how often you'll find shotguns versus other firearms throughout KY and no magazines means instant use every time as long as you have shells. The Shotgun's spread of 4 zombies per shell means you're leveling your aim skill at an astronomical pace versus bullets. Shotgun range is very good and allows you to strafe without breaking your aim on zombies at medium to short ranges. It's bad at long ranges, but; #1. you have legs and #2. if you've shot the gun the zombies are closing the distance you. The Semiauto rifle is okay all around, the 20rnd mag is nice, and honestly the long range focus on the aiming makes it kind of hard to use against zombies directly in front of you opting to instead engage targets around 5meters. It's not a mainstay weapon vs zomboids because of that, but obviously I can see the use versus players. Being that shotguns can be sawed-off and their performance isn't degraded at all, I find the M14 to be a heavier less effective choice. 20 rounds is nice, but the rate of fire leaves much to be desired and once again bullet passthrough is not as strong as shell spread and that's a shame. The M14 fills the role of a 2-handed extra ranged pistol. Is that worth the weight and back slot? Honestly, I've tried it multiple times wanting it to be good, and I'd say no and opt for melee or a shotgun instead. Now for the "best gun" the M16. The 30 rnd magazines weighs in as the heaviest fully loaded, and that matches the M16, being the heaviest gun. It's a hard loadout to carry and be light enough to escape or collect things at the same time so high strength is required to start lugging this thing with all the ammo and extra mag(1). M16 magazines are pretty rare, so is the gun. Let's talk about maintenance here. Every shot has a chance to degrade your weapon permanently, so level up your maintenance before using an M16 to give you more time with each gun between repairs. If you try to use your M16 as a leveling tool you'll blow through your repairs and eventually need to replace it with another. That being said this is a late game weapon and you can't really use it to it's full capacity before aiming level 4+ so as a primary weapon for a run, rifles can't really carry you... The availability of shotguns and ammo means you can start leveling early, leveling quickly, and killing easily. No need to raid a gun store, or break a military blockade. M16 magazines can be used to level reloading during downtime but otherwise stick to shotguns for the entire playthrough. The ammo is never that far away and it's likely attached to some poor cop shambling towards you if you need to reload or replace.

Riverside Rocks. I am currently in the parking lot and have several cars to make the short trip up to the fishing spot. There are several remote houses that have propane fuelled BBQs and guns. If you travel west of Riverside a fair way, you can find an abandoned factory (some people use this as a bigger base as it is quite remote). Just before that, there are some vandalised abandoned homes, one of them has an old fashioned stove to cart back home. The only thing that makes Riverside perilous is the Gas station locations. The one inside Riverside is quite exposed. The one near the trailer park South West of Riverside can have quite a few zombies hanging around.

3:50 the highlighted selected containers helps when you want to move things between shelves and know where things are with a wall of containers. 7:41 I would guess it has to do with the nutrients of eggs not taking full effect in the wrong recipe, and this change is to help stop wasting the cooked eggs.
