Overalls allows the most slots for protection, combined with long socks, long gloves, the white scarf(he wasn’t joking about it lol), military boots, bullet proof vest, and the denim shirt and long leather jacket(there’s 2 versions, short and long. 3:36 The runic glyphs here decipher as follows: "if ZombRand(7) < player:getPerkLevel(Perks.Tailoring) + 1 then" Essentially the game will compare a randomly generated number from 0 to 7 with the player's Tailoring level plus one, every time a clothing item is torn. This means that there is a 1 in 8 chance at tailoring level 0 for the following code to transpire: "if nbrOfCoveredParts then" This is a bunch of complicated shit that basically makes the "max" variable larger more often the more clothing parts the clothing item covers. So no getting an equivalent amount of thread from socks and coveralls. "local thread=InventoryItemFactoryCreateItem("Base.Thread");" Creates a thread item with maximum durability. The for-end loop afterwards uses the thread in the same way a player would, a number of times between once and ten times MINUS the max variable determined earlier. So the bigger "max" is, the less thread it uses, leaving you with more thread. Anyway there's essentially a 1 in 8 (12.5%) chance to get thread from a clothing item at tailoring level 0. At level 3 your chance is 50%. And at level 7, you always get thread.

7:06 I will prove you wrong, 2 year old video that almost certainly has differences from the version that I'm playing! Since layering is so important for getting good defenses with tailoring, I've found that I try to go with clothing that has less insulation. That matters less in the depths of winter, but matters a lot when you're in any other season. With that in mind, here's some stuff that I've found useful: - Long socks: Already mentioned in another comment, but they cover your shins as well. - Apron: Can be worn with most everything and covers the torso and thighs (but not groin???). No insulation, as well. - Black Leather Trousers: More protection than camo pants, but also more insulation. Luckily, having too-hot legs doesn't seem to affect your overheating as much as too-hot torso. - Hawaiian Shirt: Uses it's own slot. Covers your torso. Not that important if you're using the bulletproof vest, but I find those to be too heavy and insulating for general use. - Hockey Helmet: 100% non-bullet head protection with basically no insulation. Good for the summer! - Medical Coat: Same coverage as the long leather jacket but way less insulation. Also good for summer!

Leather gloves ( Hand protection ) Military boots ( Feet protection, Desert if you want lower insulation ) Leather jacket ( Must be thigh variant ) Denim shirt ( Only shirt that provides protection ) Long socks ( Shin protection. ) Apron ( Provides thigh, torso protection ) / Vest ( Good early game, chuck away late ) Overalls ( Also provides torso compared to regular denim shorts ) / Skinny leather jeans ( Firefighter pants but tailorable, is extremely hard to find, mostly found in survivor homes, rarely in clothing stores.) Diamond pattern sweater ( Provides Neck protection as well as being another layer. ) Scarf ( Neck protection, black if you want higher insulation, found in clothing stores, rarely in homes) Long johns ( Covers the whole body, the gold of tailoring as its only added extra layers, also extremely hard to find, mostly found in clothing stores or homes. ) / Long john bottoms ( A alternative if you cant find long johns, only affects your bottom ) You must have outdoorsman, its almost mandatory if you ever wanted to stack clothing. I recommend getting the more gloves mod as the only thing that's really weak with this set are your hands ( It ended 4 of my runs ) You could also add on small things like t-shirts, personally they aren't that mandatory.

The one thing you got wrong, is when you said "you don't always use a thread while patching" which is not true. Threads have capacity, you always use a thread while patching, it's just certain ammount of it's capacity. You can view it by clicking the small arrow on a thread stack to see all of them. One cool feature devs added recently is that now you can just right click a stack of threads and click "add all" to save some weight. Previously you had to click each individual thread and click "add to" another individual thread and do it all manually which was really annoying when you had a bunch of em. Cool vid in general, props to you

As this video is 2 years old, I'm not going to search through all the comments if this has been said before - the choice of fabric is essential for patching holes. At level 8 tailoring, if you try to fix a hole in a leather jacket with sheets or denim, you're only going to apply a fix for minimal protection. If you patch it with leather strips, it will repair the hole and allow you to add additional patches. If you have multiple fabrics and are not sure which one to use, just hover over the option, the correct material will say something like "full functionality will be restored". Also, a sewing kit will easily hold a needle, 5 thread and around 30 of each fabric. You don't need to take them out every time, just moving the kit to your main inventory will allow you to perform the action.

If the game can't find the tile ID or load the tile definition (something like that) it gives this tile.
@Mattsi2 жыл бұрын
@@AutisticWombot thank you for answering this for us. Do you happen to know how to fix it? :0
@zionxiox14752 жыл бұрын
i definitely don't have any tile mods, so my best bet without looking in to it is: a vanilla bug, car spawns, or extra helicopter events. if i can get coordinates for a spot that has this bug i'm willing to test it, but i've only seen it once. i think in Riverside that's where i usually spawn... but not because i'm bad at the game or anyrhing.
@Mattsi2 жыл бұрын
@@zionxiox1475 a fellow Riverside enjoyer, love to see it. I don't have coordinates for it, but I'm fine leaving it as is. One day I'll do a fresh reinstall and maybe that will fix it :')

While I do see value in having unbiteable clothing, I have to ask you something. Why would I wear armor, if I don't plan on getting hit?

Wish they made it so that you could just click practice tailoring or mechanics and leave your character. Manually doing the training is draining man. Imagine coming back from work to play a few hours just to do monotonous skill grind.
@joeryan15144 ай бұрын
There's a mod for it. Can't remember the name, but you described literally its only function. I'd go with the skill book mods where you learn the skill instead of getting an xp multiplier though.

As much as you tried to make the video entertaining I couldn't recommend this video to a buddy of mine trying to learn the game. The endless quips and tangents makes this needlessly long and not coherent at all. But hey good video and info in it just not what I was looking for.
