Dia duit a Rosie! I have been learning Irish for the past year or so and found your videos very helpful. I'm a programmer so I naturally made a wee website to help myself learn Irish lol, it's on my channel - It would be go hiontach if you took a look, so it would ❤

Thanks for the explanation and all the effort. This concept is the first wall that I'm really struggling with. Also your smirk at 7:15 (after "An gcanann sí") cracked me up - as if you wanted to say "Makes perfect sense, right?!" - no it doesnt yet :D

Not yet! But I will at some point in the near future… I’ll link these instagram posts that I did on the subject though! 😃… the only post I’m not satisfied with is the one for the verb “beir” (which I have labeled as “to catch”…which is true and a very common use, but only if used with the adverb “ar” {“on”}…on its own it would’ve been more accurate to say that it means “to birth”)…Anyway, I hope these will be helpful for now! ☀️ TO BE: instagram.com/p/Ch5-ou8sf1z/?igsh=MWk0eGZndHN1NzgzZw== TO DO/MAKE: instagram.com/p/CiVmx3fuEV1/?igsh=MWphbDh1MWZpYWh2cw== TO SAY: instagram.com/p/CiVm6OMuWFq/?igsh=MTRwNmV2emJudmYxeA== TO SEE: instagram.com/p/CiVuVVAuq1H/?igsh=ams1OWkydjgxdjh1 TO GO: instagram.com/p/CiVvxrEOkJF/?igsh=bnZrbHdscjBjYzN6 TO FIND/GET: instagram.com/p/CikzwuMrmrI/?igsh=MW5xMXV6ZTRsMWk5aA== TO EAT: instagram.com/p/Cik0iECrvhH/?igsh=MTAxcXV3aGRvcGZtbA== TO GIVE: instagram.com/p/Cik-__GJqVr/?igsh=MXFkbGNiMzhpaXE1MQ== TO HEAR: instagram.com/p/Cinx_pqP_7s/?igsh=MTNvZDRxNWd1dmFlZQ== TO BIRTH/CATCH: instagram.com/p/CiqjLB6Mhs0/?igsh=eDE5ODBqOXJsbHl5 TO COME: instagram.com/p/CivtOOysZL7/?igsh=ZTQ0MXFpMm8xcTFs MEMORY HACK FOR IRREGULAR VERBS: instagram.com/p/Civ4Yv8MFzi/?igsh=MTN0OXUxcm0ycDdpbQ==

What a great review. I'm returning to learning Gaeilge after nearly 20 years since finishing school. I have a lot of these books and am surprised at how much I've retained over the years. "Buntús Cainte" brings back bad memories for us because of having to practice our tape test in school. I was taken aback to hear your accent at the start, fantastic to see people abroad learning our national language. Your accent is beautiful btw, spent a lot of time down south over there and know a Southern Belle when I hear one :) Go raibh míle maith agat arís, Subscribed.

Oh go raibh MÍLE maith agat féin for your kind words 🙈and for your subscription! ☀️🤗🥹🌞 And so sorry for the late reply: I try to respond to everyone, but sometimes I wait longer than I should to recheck my comments and to respond because I’m usually pretty busy and I’m pretty bashful too. 😭 - Dang, I guess I’m glad then for not having to do that tape test. 😬 I’ve had others tell me similar stories of their experiences in the Irish school system regarding the Irish language classes. - Thank you again! 🌞 Your comment made me smile today! 🤗

I've been curious about where you are in the south. I picked up the North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. I also heard/Japan, which is way east or west, depending on which way you're flying around the globe! My other curiosity is what got you interested in learning Irish and continues to motivate you? I've been interested in Irish for nearly 30 years now! My level of interest has not always been very strong, though. I am making another attempt. I never seem to get much beyond a beginner level. I hope this time will be different. Vocabulary and pronunciation are my strengths, but grammar is weak. Your grasp of Irish grammar is impressive and sometimes a bit dizzying! I think you must be really good at English grammar too. I'm not too bad with English grammar myself. I will definitely save you videos and other resources to come back to. Go raibh maith agat! ~ Heather ~
@irishwithrosie20075 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! 🌞 Yes, you got it 💯. I’ve been living in Alabama since I was 11 (My Dad and his whole family are all from this same area)…I was born in North Carolina and also lived in Florida and Japan for awhile! - My fondness for Irish is a kind of a weird story 😂 and I plan to do a video on that in the future. But it’s all really driven by my Asperger’s Syndrome ( and therefore) my tendency to hyper focus on things. 🤗 - And Wow! That’s awesome 🤩 I want vocabulary to be a strong suit of mine one day too! Right now it’s my weakest aspect 😩, but I’ve been working on it! You’re definitely spot on that my strong suit is grammar! All through school I loved English Grammar the most, and one of my favorite hobbies was diagramming sentences! 😁 That has definitely helped me along in my Irish journey too - in really understanding the structure of the language, which is important to me. - Thank you so much for your comment and for watching, and I have a new video coming soon!

I don't know whether you will see this, but would it be possible to give a clear description of North, South, East and West? I find it impossibly confusing. 💚
@irishwithrosie20076 ай бұрын
Yes! ☀️ 💯 😃 In fact, that’s already on my list of upcoming priority video ideas! I also think that it’s a challenging concept, and I had to read a lot about it from different sources to understand it and get it straight (I avoided it for so long 😩). Thank you for your suggestion-it confirms that that’s definitely a subject I need to address in one of my next several videos!

An-mhaith a Rosie! Tá go leor cloiste agam fút agus tá tú chomh maith is a dúradh. Coinnigh ort! Thosaigh mise le Gaeilge Gan Stró san ollscoil agus aontaím leat faoi - tá sé go maith. Tá an ceann sin agus go leor leor eile ar fáil ag an leabharlann 'Hesburgh' ag Notre Dame - tá cuid den 8 urlár lán de leabhair Cheilteacha! Mar sin, is fiú do éinne leabhair a chuardach ar World Cat nó cibé cén córas a bhíonns in úsáid ag do leabharlann áitiúil - glacann an Hesburgh Library páirt sna scéimeanna 'Interlibrary Loans'! Tá leathanach déanta agamsa do na siopaí leabhar ina bhfuil leabhair Gaeilge le ceannach. Níl sé sármhaith, ach tá nascanna agus beagáinín eolais ann. Má tá suim agat, beidh fáilte romhat súil a chaitheamh air agus é a roinnt le pé duine is mian leat. docs.google.com/document/d/1xljxiciGQDovQ06DG0tB-SKOS8Slz6HDccXZJzEOTBs/edit?usp=sharing
