@@Yankee2003 You too! It was a lot of fun, and I basically ignored the bogeys, etc. I did have a 90' throw in on a hole I never birdied, and a lot of people recognized me on the course and it was basically a blast. Ultimately I did everything I could to prepare, and I had no regrets coming in.

@NickCarroll2 күн бұрын
@@ivwilliamson79 Thank you! Yeah I'm committed to trying it on standstill upshots at least, as well as my forehand. I just can't get "full power" drives and maintain form integrity. The only way I can fix this is burn in the reps, but it takes time, and I can't do a lot of them right now. But I'm not giving up, and I'll continue to make progress. 🙂
@brianlefevre15092 күн бұрын
You are at a real crossroads. Your form changes will never take if you practice the changes and then knowingly revert to old habits in rounds. Based on your upload schedule it would seem you spend as much if not more time on the course so you are just steadily undoing your drill work. This seems to be something you have really struggled with for a while...quickly abandoning form changes when they dont set in as quickly as you want. You need to decide if you really want to make significant form changes and just accept the fact your rounds will need to suck for a few months or just play and have fun with your current form and accept that you might have reached your max potential from a throwing standpoint (can always improve putting and upshots). I know you have mentioned in previous video you were only going to be focusing on upper body/arm drills, but i do think a lot of your consistency issues stem from your lower body. You dont get much weight shift from your back to front leg. in fact often times your bag leg drags almost acting like a counter weight/anchor pulling you back. Likely why you felt like you were grip locking throws. This is especially apparent in your standstill throws. I do want to compliment you on your forehand improvements (present video excluded). You seem to be developing more confidence in your forehand for those 150ft and in upshots. Seen you go to that successfully more and more in previous videos
@NickCarroll2 күн бұрын
Interesting. I haven't thought much about my lower body interfering here. I did start working on forehand because of my limited progress in ironing in my backhand changes. I can throw with intended form so long as I don't put much on it. Ultimately it does come to putting in the reps during the week, because I can't play or record until the weekend at best.
@brianlefevre15092 күн бұрын
@@NickCarroll Sometimes your legs remind me of like how a pretzel stick is kind of twisted around itself...wish YT allowed screenshots in comments. Also on many throws after you release the disc you actually fall backwards on your rear foot also indicating you arent getting quite the weight shift and balance transfer. Just something to consider.

Awesome video Nick! I’m planning on getting a zuca cart soon, but I haven’t decided which model. I’m stuck between this and the transit model. I like the idea of having the additional bottom storage on the transit cart, but the compact cart holds plenty of discs. I don’t want to overload a cart and have to lug it at some of these Houston courses. There are a few that don’t cut the grass often enough, and I’d love some feedback as to how the carts roll in those conditions. I mainly play at centennial, briscoe, TLV, and Stevenson park. Also keep up the great content!
@NickCarroll20 күн бұрын
I've used my cart on literally every course in Houston at this point, and there's only a small number that it's a problem, and only on small sections of them. Like Texas Army Trail, Little Egypt. I can't think of any on the south side I had problems with, especially any of those. The Transit cart holds more, but is slightly larger. You'll have to go with your gut here. Also if you have a small trunk, the compact cart is a better option, but you can still lay the Transit cart down. It's not much bigger.

@NickCarroll24 күн бұрын
yeah definitely use floater discs on holes 4, 5, and 8. And bring a disc retriever of some sort in case you do get one in the pond, because the water doesn't move much, so it would take a long time for the disc to float to the shore.
