Nick - thanks for the review! Glad it got you thinking about your form. After seeing a lot if people try the product out for the first time, it seems the most common theme is late release. This happened to me at first at there is a mechanical reason behind it. I want to make a video about it soon. When you were rounding, your brain was attempting to time the release of the disc and thats, in turn, how you would aim at the target. With the device on, you visibly see your arm out and away, which is good. Its a step in the right direction to not round anymore. However, the disc took the exact sam path (an arc) and you released late. Your brain is still caught up on trying to release the disc on a slight arc. I believe the solution is trusting the disc will come out on the straight line every time you line up your shot. The best way to practice is an ALIGNMENT STICK. Practice with an alignment stick and the ThroForm for an hour and you will slowly train your brain into the correct release point. Hope this helps, happy throwing!

Thank you! Yeah it's one of my faves, too. The follow up will be out Friday morning. I played the first 5 holes in a best throw format.

Very interesting tool, hadn't heard of it before; seems like it could be a nice tool, but not a miracle cure. A bit of reminder: 99% of "grip lock" events are actually rounding. You're still bringing the disc too far behind you, bending the elbow, instead of reaching back straight. Though I don't think the ThroForm can even fix that type of rounding, since it's not connected to your lower arm. Might be helpful to try a "wide rail" -stance for throwing. Since you seem to have the issue where your straight line from reachback to throw goes through your body and you're not getting the leading shoulder out of the way in time, so the disc has to go around your body, probably also why you keep rotating the disc vertical during your pull through, you're trying to get the hand deeper into the power pocket, without slicing yourself with the disc edge. A wide rail stance can help get the body out of the way, and trying to do a wider rail will also reduce you trying to bring the disc too far behind you. So instead of reaching straight back, reach back and a little bit out (i.e. towards the camera in the side shot, or left in the back shot), while probably also taking your last step slightly further out to compensate for the straight line pull vector shifting slightly to the right, by the reachback going a bit left, since you're still keeping the disc on a straight line. I recently switched to a wide rail after having some timing issues, and wide rail has helped with that. Might not help you at all, but give it a shot. I also probably explained it very poorly in text, so probably check out one of the big DG youtubers explaining it properly and with video. :)

I totally dig your response man. Thank you! I have to say, I just fixed a part of my swing today. I went back to that course and tested out some swing thoughts and was able to throw a disc without rounding. And I felt like the arm was much more in control. And THEN I played a random doubles mini and after a first couple rough throws (though decent) I really started to throw better through much of the round. I'll make a video on this next week, but I haven't had this level of breakthrough in years. And yeah, I definitely want to give a wide rail a chance once I start dialing things in.

@@NickCarroll Sweet! Grats on unlocking a new talent point, so to speak. :) Ran into this vid on wide rail from another small channel. Thougth it was pretty nice, so figured I'd send it your way. He goes into couple variations on it as well. I personally don't do the pump thing, just reachback normally but wider, though I do sometimes do the Philo "swingback" for standstills. Hope you won't mind me linking to a different channels video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKjLhnaeZ6x2rtE

@@abc_def-55 ok yeah I remember that video. I also made a post in the comments section. I just rewatched it and will try to take that into consideration when I start experimenting with the wide rail. I like doing it sometimes with upshots, like Philo does actually.

Cool product and thanks for sharing your experience! Your arm is still visibly far too activated though. I don't have one of these but it seems like it should make it easier to let your arm be a noodle and power your throw with the rest of your body.

I actually had a bit of a breakthrough today I'll likely make a video about next week - likely Wednesday morning release. I haven't filmed it yet, but I stopped rounding and gained more control. I'll keep working on it!

@@NickCarroll I looks like it works well tho. My issue is dropping my elbow. I can keep it up no problem when I remind myself it's just not habit yet. Niklas Antilla totally nails, to the point of exaggeration, the elbow placement.

@@prattacaster I think I finally have that situation solved. Next video dropping this morning won't show it, as it was recorded immediately after this one, but Monday you'll see some improvement in my final review. I am finally getting this monkey off my back!

Can't wait for mine to get in. By the way do you feel like this also helps with your follow through? My follow through is super high and I can't seem to have a level follow through. Also hoping this solves that issue too.

I think what you do with the backswing sets you up for the swing, and what you do in the swing sets you up for the follow through. The key is to eventually turn it all into one smooth motion. Also, I don't think the ThroForm helped or hindered the follow through at all. But it did act as a guardrail of sorts for my swing, which helped.

Go back and watch the first two minutes. Could you have done that in 1:30? Or in 1:00? Did you prepare what you were going to say? Not going to lie, it’s a lot of rambling and I couldn’t handle it.
