when you modified the s13 sub frame did it just bolt right in? ppl on forums say it doesnt fit but i clearly just watched you bolt it right in .
@darrynjames13 күн бұрын
Hey mate, nah the chassis needed a decent amount of fabrication to accept the subframe. I used the mounting pins out of an S13 wreck so it looks like it bolts in as if it’s factory.

@wonbongcho8709 Thanks mate, I appreciate it! 👌 this version of the car was built around 2018 so the pricing would be a bit different now but I have about $34000 AUD into the current build not including the price of the car itself but this 180sx as a rolling shell in 2011 only cost me $600

@darrynjamesАй бұрын
It’s hard to put a price on a car like this in the market, depends what’s done but I can see a decent set up track ready car going from 20-50k depending what’s done. Yeah man, if labour was involved I could see it being at least $50k I also painted it myself which would have cost a lot to pay someone to do.

Strut tops look ok and is it worth the time and effort painting the engine bay? Get the damn thing on the road and enjoy it.
@darrynjames6 ай бұрын
More so future proofing it with the strut towers. With these cars it’s more a matter of when the towers will rust not if… and with it starting to lift slightly it’s early signs that it’s beginning to happen so I’d rather treat it now than deal with it years later when it is a problem. And I’d hate to go through all this effort and not have the engine bay as fresh as the rest of the car, the time and effort to do so won’t hold me up with the car… it’s saving the money for the engine/driveline and exterior paint that’s going to hold me up.

Hey mate, glad you enjoyed it! The 86 body kit is a bit hit and miss, the front bumper can be made to fit without too much heavy work but the side skirts and rear bumper would require custom fibreglass work to fit the S12 body.
