Ahh, what memories, flying control line- building and launching Estes rockets- teaching my father how to fly RC. Good God I miss him! Thank you for the memories!

Mine has a sprung loaded device on top of the fuel tank which will stop the engine if you pull it. Check out Brian Cox's video of the ED Competition Special. What size prop were you using?

Great video. I also have a couple of these engines that run great (one flying at the moment in a Ranger 30). You seem to be getting almost twice the run time that I achieve, what's your secret? I get about a minute and a half, which gives me 4-5 circuits around the patch. Still a lot of fun, I rarely fly my electric models these days.

One question: Wasn't the smallest engine from Cox the engine for the Mini-Piper? It was hell to get that thing running and made more noise than it made power.

*During the 1970's the .010 was so cheap I just put them in the garbage-can and ordered 10 new ones by mail order - $96.00 for a 10 pack as a Cox dealer (My dead helped me get that dealership via his hardware store). I must have trashed over 300 of those .010's in my 7 years of flying,,, before I discovered GIRLS! Now I HOARD everything and tell my kids to HOARD stuff too.*

@@user-jt5sx8gh1r not necessarily when I do it to my diesels I find the engine is perfectly primed to start up again. I never find it to be flooded and even then diesels like being quite flooded to start.

when i was a boy i had 3 of the cox little engine sizes and made free flight planes. it was lots of fun 60 years ago, i can still smell the fuel burning.

Nice, but we are not allowed using petrol engines on our model airfield Schön, auf unsere Flugplatz darf man leider keine Verbrenner fliegen. btw.: Did you had a servo for the engine? I thought I heard some throttling.

You should use Nitro to keep this engine alive ..but the question is Nitro causing cancer ? And hence is this fun safe ?

i haven't started one of those little engines in 60 years but i can still smell the burn't fuel. we had a lot of fun with control line and free flight planes but never got up to the r/c level but we used to watch the grownups fly them. lots of fun.
