Amazing display.. was this a purchased model that you added to, or from scratch?

This was a very hard to find, purchased resin model that I had to assemble, paint, etc. I added a ton of extras and the lighting. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it.

WOww! Amazing man! Where did you get your kits like lightning electronics, decals, paint, reference materials and of course, the physical model to work on? I saw your last two videos on this, but the comment section is disables. I saw a glimpse of the observation lounge. So cool! Cheers! - 🐧
@qakeith2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for viewing and nice comments. The model is from Polar Lights, the lighting is a kit from Trek Modeler, the Aztec decals are from HDA Modelworx. All the paints are my own collection. The acrylic laser cut windows are from laserfirecreations.com. There is also photoetch parts from ParaGrafix. It is an expensive undertaking, but I think it will be soooo worth it when finished.

I introduced this very show back in 1969! I was on a local Philadelphia kids' show called "Wee Willie Webber" on PHL17. I think by then, Voyage was in reruns but it was my 1st moment on local TV when I was 9 years old. My Cub Scout Pack was there for a taping after school and I was able to watch myself on TV at 6 pm when the show aired. 😀

My girlfriends would have ostracized me but I loved the Seaview. It was so beautiful I imagined living on it. To this day I have a model and poster of the schematics. I grew up in St. Louis and one day as I drove down Florissant Rd I nearly wrecked because there out in the playground of a daycare was a model of the Seaview! Turns out it was reproduced to scale by an engineer who worked for McDonnell Douglas in St Louis. The model shown in the series was 8 ft long eventually ended up in a museum in Portland OR I think but since has gone into moth balls. If I were a billionaire I would make a replica that could take people on an excursion and cast the immediate crew to look as close to the original as possible.

Guys hollyweird cannot make good science fiction movies like this one, or any others, these are classics and have exilent special effects.

OMG, it even has an interior! Beautifully done! How big is it? Is it scratch-built? Based on a kit? Outstanding work!
@qakeith8 ай бұрын
It’s a kit and it’s about 39 inches long. I didn’t care for it just sitting on its original stand so I made the diorama instead. Thanks for the nice comment.

What a fantastic model that matches a fantastic movie. I wonder what it would be like remade with today special effects technology. I only hope they ge good actors to play the parts. No race swapping or messages. Just raw entertainment.
