The issue is the American model that is infesting the world. And is now doing it more so with last nights European decision. Ultimately the end goal is to make it so we can’t quit. I hate my job if there years. In the US I can’t quit because I don’t have enough savings to carry me through a year in the event the technology job market continues to be this way. Government isn’t doing shit and majority of postings are bogus so you apply and don’t even get interviews. I’m now applying for the last six months.

I recently quit the job I've been at for 11 years. But...since it's a contractor job, and we work when we want (which for me is 24/7 because that's the only way to claim jobs to do and make any money), they didn't know of my decision. So it felt SO good at first. But after about a week, I panicked and went back. Unfortunately, I don't have the financial means to just stop working. I have bills to pay. It's really sucking the life out of me, though. The pay rates have crashed over the years, and they just exploit all of us because they know they can. Thanks so much for this video, though!

Part of me is like. Just another month. Just another month. My boss joked around that i wouldnt be supported if I quit 6 months in to the job and found something else. Hes also joked twice about firing me. The issue is Im underpaid and I need something to get money so I can pay for a car and an apartment away from my parents. Im 30 so theres a good reaspn there. My manager outside of joking poorly is a good natured guy. Hes just idiotic sometimes. He stopped doing it when another manager saw it happen. But, I am constantly gaining weight even if Im eating less and less. My job before this was a warehouse job. This is a career job. The last one was much harder, but the people werent fake and I felt like I was respected there. People thank me there, but it doesnt feel like they mean it. They just say it as a metric to retain workers. My goal is to get to 1 year or close to it before changing jobs. 7 months right now. Only 5 left.

You don’t need to do Jack shit in companies. At least in the US. I used to give 2 weeks. Shifted to 1 and haven’t had issues. And I may consider none in the current job market since companies are pulling shit under the rug and telling you you have a job and then they don’t. So staying last minute can save you from those scenarios with the old job.

@@WoohooInc I'm based in Portugal, here if you work at a company for more than two years your notice period is of 60 days. *sigh* It's a long story, but I basically had a minor stroke and was diagnosed with a burnout as well and was on leave for two months, and have returned three weeks ago, but I just feel so incredibly disconnected from work, I just don't feel comfortable or committed working there anymore. I was in an abusive roommate situation and was ridiculed for quitting a lot due to mental breakdowns because the stress of the job AND the bitch roommate was TOO MUCH. So much that I attempted “the thing” multiple times. One day, I had the courage to say enough is enough and decided to move out of state and moved in with an online friend. I disconnected from all the people who enabled this life that was literally killing me. I was unemployed for over a year and i was FINALLY able to process and HEAL from my trauma! Years and years of trauma! I know not everyone has the privilege to do this and at the time, i didnt think I had that option either. I stopped being afraid of leaving shit work places. I felt i had control of my life again and not at the mercy of my job and people’s judgment of me. And I MAKE MORE than i ever did (still not livable tho but that’s capitalist America for you). No job is worth your LIFE! Read that again!

Is this the US? If you have proof that they do that you can take it to the state attorney. By law a company can’t badmouth you. Now references can, but you need to switch them around. I use the ones from my previous job one where I amassed about 12 references for (worked in multiple positions in a company for 12 years). This new one, no one. They are a company run by dumb dumbs and a network of folks that know each other from their own high school. So it’s a clique. Nope I know I don’t have anyone that’s a good reference. Well I do, but she herself quit! lol
@timboles9480
@timboles9480 17 күн бұрын
@ireneswackyjournals8810 yes this is in the US and the chances of me getting proof are nill, the only "proof" i had was how quickly new prospective jobs went from " we have more work than we can handle" to "there's no work right now" Currently the company was hemorrhaging employees so it makes sense they'd be doing that to keep as many as they could without giving better pay/ working conditions. But since last week i worked my last day of a 2 week notice and am no longer with the company Im hoping now they won't have a reason to bad mouth me, and if they do I've got proof of my productivity and peer reviews

I will say it's generally better to get fired in the US, than quit unless you have another job lined up. However, if you know you're being forced out, definitely document what was happening to make certain your quitting is really constructive dismissal. You're more likely to get unemployment this way. had to stay in a job for about 20 years because every time, I wanted to quit, my ex-husband decided to quit HIS job and since I was the main bread winner, I was screwed. Eventually, I divorced him. However, I stayed at the job for a couple more years because I knew there was going to be a layoff with a fat severance awaiting me plus the benefits were good. Had it not been for my ex, I'd left it years ago. Despite the severance and benefits, my career was basically cut off at the knees.
@WoohooInc
@WoohooInc 16 күн бұрын
OTOH if you get out at a time of your own choosing, you might be more likely to find a good job and a better career situation. It might also feel better to take charge of your own circumstances, rather than leave it up to the whims of the company.

My friend, we already have single payer health insurance. It's called Obamacare and its existence has increased our costs three-fold in the last decade.
@WoohooInc
@WoohooInc Ай бұрын
Yeah, none of that is true. Obamacare is not single payer and while health insurance costs are rising, they have not tripled and they are rising more slowly than before the ACA. Here's a good summary: Cynthia Cox, vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), a nonprofit health care policy research organization, says that America’s health care system is better off in many ways because of the ACA. "People have more affordable coverage, and more people are covered,” says Cox. “But we're still, as a society, spending much more on health care than any other country does." said

In Ontario Canada the provincial government publicly, unbelievably goes after disabled people who are on a type of support called the Ontario Disability Support Program. Implying that they are scam artists for not working. Even though it is a very stringent process to get this disability support in the first place. They do this so that the general public doesn't become outraged that the disabled receiving this ODSP live way below the official poverty line and how disgusting and discriminatory this is. Many of them become suicidal. From their disability,the poverty they face and the psychological abuse and stereotypes being perpetuated by their own government. The suicide rates spiked during Covid.Mean while the Federal government's answer is to create a fast track for people to access assisted suicide for the disabled instead of offering counselling/ supports.
