Beware of JumpSpeak - Potential Scam! I had a terrible experience with JumpSpeak. They seem to focus more on advertising and using bots than providing a legitimate service. Despite not approving any charges, they charged my credit card twice! Be cautious when sharing your payment information - this feels like a scam.

Dear Jumpspeak team, I am a Duolingo user considering Jumpspeak but the website provides no basic information. What languages are supported? What is its price? I am sure the product is amazing, hope you can resolve this.

I’ve watched this video a couple times. This is not a good introduction to your app. You should talk more about the features of the interface and how to navigate the app. Start at the beginning and go slow.

Gracias! But Dear can you tell me if you understand other Spanish slang, too? For example Colombian or Mexican? Sometimes I got the impression you have to learn Spanish from scratch for each country it is spoken

I had a book of “101 Spanish Idioms”. A couple that I liked very much were “A otro perro con ese hueso” and “Cuando las ranas críen pelo”.

Uña used as slang doesn't exist here in CR. We don't use naco, just marginalized population with narco-mexican influence. Using mexian slang or talking with "TU" is huge faux-pied in CR. This video is not accurate at all, actually is very weird why somebody would post so totally wrong info.

Naco no es nuestro. Acá a una persona así le decimos "polo" Y lo de comparar a la güila (novia) con la uña. Legalmente no sé de dónde se sacaron semejante barrabasada!

I’m still trying to learn how to learn with Jumpspeak? It takes me through the exercises but I don’t retain everything. Am I supposed to repeat the lessons, memorize everything or keep moving through the exercises?

The remaining 8% or so of words are words you can ask the meaning of or quickly look up in a dictionary, as you would for new words in your native language. Another way of thinking about the first 1000 words is as a basis from which just by trying to use the language you can expand

Interesting 🤔. I’m going to watch this app over the next few months. Currently we’re Super Duolingo subscribers, but if by the Summer we’re not seeing a step change in functionality which utilizes conversation ai, then this app could be a forerunner to further our education. Heard about Duolingo Max (announced in March. 2023), however it’s still not generally available and seems to be limited to only Spanish and French. JumpSpeak doesn’t seem to support Mandarin (Chinese) as yet, so that’s a downside. But Spanish and French an upside. 🤔

I tried this app and not impressed at all. In fact, they fit the mold of so many online companies where there appears to be no real people available to help you and their customer service is terrible. Worse, I signed up for a 100 day trial and got hit right away with a $79 charge, WTF?! And now, when I try to reach someone and cancel, their directions around how to cancel don't work and I get automated email responses. One of the worst companies I've dealt with in a long time. They claim to teach languages yet seem unable to communicate, pathetic.

I consider jumpspeak a spam service. Impossible to get customer service/a refund

I’ve wondered about that. I haven’t been able to see any examples for how it works, and when I see this person reviewing it and only saying good things, I’m suspicious that he’s getting paid to do so. I wish there was a way to pass these things out. Free trials help.

I’m so glad I read this. Yeah I didn’t feel comfortable paying before hand. They shouldn’t charge you until the promotion is over.
