But I thought you guys promote Yukiko Ueno, who is notorious for brush contact. I'm so confused. Should we brush like her or avoid it
@coltriley8798Күн бұрын
Its ok to brush (arm close to the body even making light contact) but the problem they are trying to fix here is when the arm is completely behind the body slamming into it. My oldest daughter use to bruise her hip and elbow because she would open too much and her arm would slam into her body and then swing around to release. Her pitches would also pull to her throwing side. Its a pain in the butt to fix but wall work does help. It also promotes brush contact as it keep the pitchers arm close to their body.

My daughter bruised her elbow yesterday by throwing basic one step Ks….is there any thing that would cause this? Maybe her shoulder opening too much and getting caught behind.
@FastpitchPower4 күн бұрын
@@krisolson720 I would guess that she either does a big windup and pulls the arm behind her head before she delivers, OR she re-opens her hips before she delivers which is a huge contributor to arm getting stuck behind the body

Would love to know if you have a video or perspective on arm path as a mechanic. Like…it seems that most pitchers don’t let arm go behind them or plane of shoulders but is that true and how is upper arm, fore arm, and grand track through pitch from reach to top of circle to release and how it’s positioned related to shoulders/chest.

I like how you explain the process of reading hitters and calling pitches. Should catchers always call the pitches? I see so many coaches in softball yelling out numbers to their pitcher.

You can take a sock roll it up in a ball go to a hallway, put up a target and pitch it as fast as you can and you should hear it smack the target if it doesn’t that will tell you need to flick it harder

@elsiewelsie123Ай бұрын
That looks so good! The only thing I would point out (I'm not a pitcher in any way so you don't have to take me seriously) is that you can easily recognize her changeup because she doesn't slap her glove down and her arm doesn't cross over her waist like with the rest of her pitches. So from a batters perspective if this was tweaked, it would be much harder to pick up! Her spin is actually insane so I would be surprised if I could hit it in the first place.
