Hey, I'm happy to hear Acolyte works OK as a standalone. From what I've heard from my favourite star wars creators (who aren't the man babies obsessed with skin colour and genitals 😂) they're not very impressed with the writing, which sucks because it would be great to have a good quality product starring women of colour. But I haven't actually seen it. I will watch something to form my own opinion, but not if it's been cancelled because I HATE unfinished stories. If you say it wraps up quite nicely, then I will actually watch it now so thank you 😊

Smutification of YA books is a big problem right now, and it's the newst trend. It started with booktok pushing adult smut to youth, and now it made its way to YA books. In my library i see girls and young as 13 reading adult smut with dark themes, and they think it's romantic. It's totally messing with their impressionable not fully developed minds.

I have a feeling I am going to like this video and have similar or even same opinion about this trope. So let beginn and see... . Why am I disapointed now? The Bridge kingdom is "True Enemies to Lovers" ? Really! Are you kidding me? 🤦‍♀️ I still have that book in paperback so please tell me the page where they try to kill each other? I maybe missed it! . He is INSTA "I like her curves" because of the dress in the rain....they don't talk till chapter 25, she has some good inner toughts but never suspects THAT ONE PERSON so MC must spell it to her! FC was trained but never even done some "field work" BUT she is soooo good in spying and not getting discovered....😑 MC is mostly like "I can't trust her as she is his daughter.." She never chalenge him about the bad thinks he is doing to her people, they never verbaly or truely fight! In ch16-24 nothing happens for me to see the enemy part and all that hate. The are some battles but she tries to help insted to trying to of him...😑 I see now 😮‍💨 I need to start a booktube channel as well. . For the record I want in books to hide well the unlogical part of the story telling, for me to not see everything that is deus ex machina and for the characters to not be dumm so obviously. . The only romantasy that I like is Radiance as it is strangers to friends to lovers.

I found Sharp Objects and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn at a Free Library near me & I’m so excited to read those during autumn. I’ve heard a lot of great things about her books.

i think the "A has been in love with B the whole time" actually can work with the characters being enemies, but only if they had a good relationship before. so something like lovers/friends to enemies to lovers. i don't know many books that do that dynamic well but if you want a good example of this take diana and leona from league of legends. i know it's not a book (i'd kill to have an official novelization of their story tho) but i strongly recommend anyone who enjoys enemies to lovers to look up their lore. the angst is just 🤌🤌🤌

Never thought I’d ever go back to reading manga again but your vids made me wanna go back to reading manga again and now I’m rereading some of my old shoujo faves :)

i feel like enemies-to-lovers only works when there’s a clear difference between their moral beliefs and principles. when they influence each other to grow and be accepting of new ideas. when they learn from the relationship and become better people, or at the very least have some understanding of the other’s perspective.

I reread Tokyo Ghoul 1 and loved it, my favourite manga, as a literature student I loved all the classics references (Kafka's Metamorphosis) injected into Ken's story!

I recently watched the entirety of GG (I stopped watching around the end of season 5 during the original airing - yes, I am that old) and I couldn’t believe how bad the writing got in season 5 and 6. Dan and Blair were the saving graces of those seasons fr.

I feel like entering my manga era. I used to read it a ton in middle school and I miss it.

- Jude and Cardan - Nina and Matthias (literally enemies by nature. Grisha and Grisha hunter) - Selwyn and Bree (he really did hate her/ try to kill her at the start) - Katniss and Peeta (not fantasy, and this could be debated, but as tributes they were forced to be enemies, Katniss really hated him at a few points even in the Mockingjay book) - Alastair and Gavin🌈 (All of Us Villains duology. They deserve more hype...these two REALLY tried to kill one another) Some of my book favs that actually HATED each other at one point. Real enemies to lovers try to kill each other😊
