My grandpa played fiddle but loved bill monroe. I inherited his fiddle and his albums. Don't know how I never knew of him. Must have been more hippy than country but now I think he was outstanding player. Im glad you teaching me. My first. I can do couple of his rolls and licks but this Mr monroe was coolest thing since sliced bread.

On guitar Iused a kapo to change the key. How do I change the key on the mandolin? (Or am I jumping ahead of you?)
@COMANDOLINАй бұрын
Long answer short: those G, C and D shapes can move around like barre chords on the guitar and be in any key depending what fret you’re on. I have a video called “Mandolin For Guitar Players” that explains this in detail :)
