Hi, Drak. The handlebars is stock from T3 California?
@odysseusdrakos200817 күн бұрын
yes, apart from the chrome that peeled off and the rust that replaced the chrome, they are stock handlebars 🙂

Sounds great looks like a diode has gone in the alternator causing it to come back on, I had the same thing happen with two Cortinas although I'm sure since this video was uploaded its been fixed now lol

@odysseusdrakos20085 ай бұрын
@@Alim_usta the pinto was not standard in the mk1, it came in the mk2, but in a mk2 with a 2.0 pinto and the right gearing a transit could do 100mph but the pinto would be working harder than the essex, the essex does it easy.

Do they all have noisy valve trains?

they should do, if they are quiet it means the rocker to pushrod gaps are too close, there should be tappet noise.

Sound is very good, and wich black coils are used on this lovely Guzzi, my Guzzi is a 850 LeMans 2 1980 and I search for new coils and nothing good find ?
@odysseusdrakos200811 ай бұрын
they are some second hand ones that came from an aprilia rsv1000 and work just right with the Guzzi on points, giving around 3.4 ohms
@Fudders Жыл бұрын
That did sound good for a first start. No doubt the care you took to oil the valve drivetrain generously all helped, well done! Do you still have it and if so, have you done much else?
@odysseusdrakos2008 Жыл бұрын
yes still have it, use it regularly, swapped the exhaust system for stainless and fitted stainless conti replica silencers, also fitted and tuned mk1 lemans carbs and manifolds, dellorto phf36s, and a quick action single cable twist grip with a splitter under the tank. goes very well now. though i have a v11 sport motor lined up for it which should make it go even better!

i need 3.0 v6 transit specs. could you possibly send me a picture of the register extract? it is enough for me that it shows the brand, model, power and weight. I have a 2.4 diesel engine in my mk1 transit and I would like to replace it with a more efficient gasoline engine. That's why I need the technical data of the most powerful version of the model series, so that I can get it street legal
@caerleon876 ай бұрын
The most powerful standard transits were supplied by ford with the essex V6 for use as ambulances here in the uk. We do not have "register extracts" here in the uk. All our reg docs have is engine and chassis numbers
@odysseusdrakos20086 ай бұрын
mine was not original, started as 2.0 v4, the v6 in there now is from a Capri 3.0s with a weber carb & tubular exhaust manifolds.

not quite, the standard 4160 (8007) has vacuum secondaries and only accelerator pump on primaries, this is a genuine double pumper with mechanical secondaries.

Seeing the moving engine parts is just so cool! Have you done a lot of miles on it? Has it been reliable? I've heard of a lot of electrical problems on them, did you also experience those?
@odysseusdrakos20083 жыл бұрын
hi, the bike has been 100% reliable in the years i have had it except for normal wear, from use, i had to change the clutch friction plates which only cost about £70 and took about 2 minutes to swap over. and i had to put new brushes in the starter motor, the new brush kit was only about £25 but it was a hell of a job to get the starter motor off, a hell of a job to get it back together again with the new brushes installed and a hell of a job to refit the starter motor, horrible job but hopefully that will be it now for another 60,000 miles. absolutely love the bike.

got most of what i need to build a nice bike around the motor, only thing i don't have is a really good swing arm, i'd like something that can take a wide tyre, at least 160/60x17, and preferably a floating drive box, so magni, radical or home made, but that will be slow and expensive, i might try a cali 1100ev one for the short term .
