Nice tutorial and solution to a problem that has clearly impacted many users of the Microfreak, myself included. Surely the answer to this is for @arturia to release an update that includes a metronome for real-time recording, cant that difficult right? The way I get around this is to sequence the Microfreak on an external piece of hardware, the Digitakt in my case, works a charm.

Another thing you can do is play your original part at double the tempo, then drop the tempo to produce a nice open, ambient sound.

Thank you so much, this was a massive help although I found that it didn't work if I deleted the NTS-1 from the list and it still moved it up the list to MIDI 7 which was good enough for the librarian to see it this time. 🙂 👍

Skulpt have better sequencer build in, than Keystep. No quantization, 4 lines of automation, more sequences banks and more. Other than that - very informative video. Thx!

Just use another synth that does have a metronome, or use the metronome in your DAW..... There are plenty of easier work arounds rather than complicating yourself like this.... Even a cheap guitar tuner has a metronome built in....

Hello, I'm looking for a video that shows how I can include a .wav library in the model cycles. First of all, is it possible to include samples and if so, how and in what format? If it does not include .wav and if syex, how do I transform .wav to syex. Greetings and thank you!!

That was a very helpful video and thank you. Good thinking re the snc out to a device for metronome. When I read the user manual and discovered we have to press a number of keys together to ERASE...the keys bear no resemblence to erasure. With a bit if forthought Arturia could have done this by hitting the SHIFT button and then the ERASE button! It should not have been that difficult to have designed the thing ti be user friendly. Shift is normally the one to hit first before anything is erased. Of course this is not your fault. Excellent work and thank you.
