I haven't!!! I've heard other youtubers mention it for like additional content but haven't looked much into it myself and what I need for it. Finally had time to sit down and watch this! I absolutely love the dialogue box design as well as Faye's outfit. You always do a good job mixing east and west design elements. I can imagine caddy with an "are you for real?" expression HAHAHA

I love all the little embroidery details on Faye's outfit. I think Faye is a fine name, it could hint at a dreamer side of his personality that is hidden behind the pessimism. The backstory for Caddy is quite interesting as well. Looking forward seeing more!

About the names... Don't think too much about them as long ans you think their good enough, you can still change them later if you find a better one. It's a nightmare if you tries to get the perfect name as everyone will think differently about it anyway and your feeling about it will change over time. Just having a name that make sense (and that is not copyrighted) is enough. You can maybe have some fun names by picking a theme like it's often the case for some anime. Knowing from what kind of culture the character comes and what kind of names that culture has can also help in some way as well as knowing the mentality and preferences of the parents. Moreover, the names can be integrated in a few conversation if a character is curious about its meaning and origin. It will be additional work that may not be needed but adds more depth to the characters. It mostly depend on how much the character's origin is important or not for the game and story. Anyway, don't think too much on small details, or you'll never finish anything... like me 🥲

Surprisingly people like the name faye XD I just picked it out cause it sounded nice so i wasn't convinced it was a good fit cause there isn't much meaning to it hahaha. People have been coming up with good ideas for why his name should be Faye HAHAH so its like working backwards WHICH IM DOWN FOR CAUSE IT MAKES ME LIKE THE NAME MORE HAHAHA, my friend said she likes how he has a non chalant personality making him un-faye-zed. These are great pointers to choosing a name, thank you 💐!!! hahahha true, BACK TO WORKING ON THE GAME!!!! (you better work on yours too, you have too many good ideas not to!)

Great video! It make me want to continue working on my games :) I noticed one think that should be improved. That may be personal, but I can't help to think the lighter option is the one selected, so inverting the visual logic may help. To be sure there is no confusion, adding some kind of visual indicating with button is active could help, like the bow on the label corner being active only on the selected option or adding some kind of pointer. And you can also add a small UI animation, like a slight horizontal offset, nothing too fancy. The issue especially arrise due to having only 2 options and having no way to distinguish which of the two visual is the one selected (especially if it loops). It's not a real issue as the user will learn it after the first menu anyway, but some additional Clarity will not hurt.

I personally think fey is a fine name. But maybe you can make that one his artist name ? As in caty decides to call him fay as long as he wörks there. This culd also be a way for Caty to distance himself from fey since he knows he will die and or leave him one day. (Or fay is his real name and he gets an apprentice name from Caty) it wuld also have some chihiro vibes ;)

That sounds good, might implement that in the future! At the moment the only thing that makes the customers unique is their patience timer like some kids are less patients than adults so this could be a great addition!! CAT TOYS, BIG BRAIN IDEA OMG I would love to see that in the game, animals are never interactive enough in games!!! I just want to provide all the cats with unconditional love and cradling (Although I don't think Caddy will let Faye hold him hehehe). Will have to add this!✍️✍️✍️✍️

i have binge watched all of your devlogs and i have to say this game looks to be absolutly amasing. I love the idea of the Gibli esce moving tee house. The cat is adorebele (he looks like a cat dragon mix) and the teemaking combat looks soo fun. here are some ideas that i think wuld be cool to see ( these are just my opinions, obviusly if you want to use them is up to you) 1. id love to see a armory where the MC or caddy stores the weapons they acuaire during there travel. (Or caddy alows the MC to use more and difreant weapons the further they travel). maybe also a macanic where the Player has to chose witch weapons he wants to bring for the day) 2. I always love to see a beasteary in the games. (maybe there culd be a scroll in the study that shows the difreant enemys, what they are based of and maybe a bit of trivia to the ingrident or the creature. 3. maybe boses ? as in a final big ingredient you have to beat to get the ingredient for eighter a very special tee to close the chapter/lockation or to make the cure for the sister. I think this game can be one of the best Indie games i have played and i am exited to see where this is going. good luck and godspead !

I think the same with the whiskers gives it that dragon edge, a dragon cat would be so cool. I didn't even think of armor yet!! That would actually be so helpful cause I lose a lot of health playing this game myself HAHAHA I think that's a great idea, if its not in the form armor we might go for like special objects like a magic necklace that work similar that can protect you and boost stats! Choosing a weapon is great idea too, so players can like choose what style of weapon they like the most :3! I LIKE FLIPPING THROUGH BEAST LOG BOOK THINGS IN GAMES AS WELL!! I don't read them cause I don't like to read but I like flipping through the images HAHAHA But I think that is a great idea, like if the player is stumped on how to get an ingredient that book could help like nudge them in the right direction with some extra info. Trivia is cool :0!!! ✍️✍️✍️✍️ all suggestions notedd!!!! Thank you so much really!! and for the luck🍀! Have you thought about making the player character be able to carry more teapots at once? Maybe on a tea tray? And possibly making the drop off location larger to visually hold more teapots? You have a fun little world you're making here and it's really interesting that you have combat within a cooking focused game. Fun to see such creativity.

Yesss, that is something we think is necessary too after testing it out! we also want the player to stack teapots, especially so it gives more opportunity for caddy to hold a ridiculous amount of teapots XD! Yes, I definitely think in future the design is up for a possibly redesign, I did initially want to show at least 4 teapots but the problem I faced was trying not to make the serving station too large as it has a really boxy shape, so it sticks out in the environment a lot so I made it smaller for that reason :3! Thanks so much ><!!! 💐🫶

I animate as a hobby and that leaf animation is such a win! But they're a bit hard to see because they're the same value as the floor, making them a lighter green would help a lot, even if real green tea leaves are dark (If you already changed it, sorry, I'm watching this in chronological order)

Looks so cute! Always love to see cats in games. As someone who knows cat body language, a swaying tail means they are annoyed (the intensity determining how much), but a gentle wag (usually closer to the tip) represents playfulness.
