I'm from water resource (civil) department and I'll be interested in joining the topic of mathematical modelling and techniques in water resource. In addition to this, I'm wishing that I can some where overlap with the astronomy part in my phd, since it has a lot of mathematics involved there too. will it be a good decision? Any further tips?

Being a Sikh I agree with you sir, even here in Europe we cannot go inside our own Gurudwaras to worship. They have politicised it so much. You cannot believe the pain we go through. If we go inside, we hear against country and if we do not it detaches you from the roots. Same is with my other Sikh student friends.

I think the podcast is biased. I am not in favor of Canada at all. But there was not even a single point raised from the other side. I have always wondered what do these disciplines like business analytics has to offer over Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, especially today when every course in these technical fields involve application based projects. Do they know under what conditions they can use regression analysis or not. Do they know what to do when your response varaible have inconsistent variance? Do they know what to do when your design matrix is not full rank?
