I have this creeping feeling that Deus Auri is a traitor . . . to the Dragons. I get it why he can't be the Geo Sovereign (to many facts against that, as of now), but nothing stops him from being a dragon, probably the last one or the one that sided with Celestia. There were Seven Sovereign Dragons but surely there were not just seven dragons who held considerable power. This explains two things: 1. He is old, like, knows everything old. But his lips are sealed due to his first contract. 2. His erosion: Even though he is under a contract, I don't see Heveanly Principles just trusting a dragon of the old.

It would be a pretty boss move if the Earth Dragon disguised himself and took his own power back under the rules set by the person who stole it, then handed it off to someone who he knew was going to destroy the means by which it had been stolen, ironically getting his power back.
