A lot of vintage gospel has a similar beat. Just listen to Jerry Lee's cousin Rev. Jimmy Swaggart. 😊

Niclas, found out who wrote this great song. Same lady who wrote "One Day at a Time". Marijohn Wilkin.

Niclas, where did you even find this gem? It's nowhere else on You-Tube amongst the JLL posters. No one knows who wrote it either. Can't find that out online. Love this honky-tonk piano JLL is a master at.

Well believe it or not but the song wasnt even released by Mercury at the time wich makes it a bit harder to find,i have no clue why Mercury didnt think this was good enough, but you will find it among other good ones on the Jerry Lee Lewis 30th Anniversary album,i have it on CD,but you can get all Jerrys songs from the Smash/Mercury era from 3 Bear Family superb cd boxes where its included.

Never heard this one before. Reminds me of how JLL was kicked out of Bible college for putting hymns to a fast beat. He's the BEST gospel singer of all of them. TRUTH.

As far as dying goes that would seem like one of the better ways to go for a comedian. Hearing thunderous laughter as you go down.

Great song...one I've not heard before. Closed my eyes, listened, and imagined myself slow dancing in 1950s or 1960s.

I think this was the inspiration for the 1985 war thriller "Codename Emerald" poster. Half an American German officer is on the poster.
