The only thing that is BSA about this bike is the "name", the rest is a cheap pile of cachu produced somewhere on the Indian Sub-Continent and being sold very cheaply, across the world, often ending up being bought by cheapskate sad wanabees trying to hop onto the nostalgia of a once great British marque. On top of all the jiggly hype they have even got the cheek to link it to a model that in it's day was one of the very best 350 & 500cc road bikes of the early sixties. The bike sounds more like a clapped out Singer sewing machine, nothing like the original "thumper" and unlike it's predecessor will loose it's value faster that it's top speed. As for its looks, beyond a joke, even the tank badge looks likes it was made in China and sold on AliExpress for a few rupee's........

so for someone who's new to biking and looking for a modern retro you don't think this bike is good at all?? I think you've missed the point of the video massively! firstly let me begin my complete dismantling of your bullshit comment by firstly looking at the price of this machine brand new on the road for less than £8k... the average young working class person could afford to run and keep this bike no problem at all where as the originals go for around £15-£25,000???? and you would probably have to spend a good amount again if you used it to go to and from every day to work just in parts. Secondly comes reliability and having owned several BSA's i can confidently say that the new Goldstar would out perform the ORIGINAL in power and performance, braking, economy, servicing, i could literally go on and on! ultimately i agree the original is an amazing bike but the title of the video literally says ''perfect first modern classic'' aimed at NEW riders unless you would want a youngster with no mechanical experience at all riding a classic DBD34???? i would recommend you disappear back into your cave and keep your mouth shut about the legendary bike that could be easily out performed in every way by a cheap Indian replica!

@@vikingventuresuk6122 Well, I found the reason why it wouldn't start. The battery was too low. I put it on a tender now it fires right up. @@nanotech2691 id start by checking the voltage at the battery (while the bike is running) needs to be 13/14 voltsif its less than the rectifier is your problem regarding the battery or its just a duff battery. secondly the carbs might be out of sync or the idle needs to be adjusted. hope this helps a fellow Ducatisti!

I'm a huge Ducati fan and i run a 1260 multistrada myself but if i could go back in time and i cant believe I'm saying this id of bought the Suzuki....
@AldredsquashUk2 ай бұрын
You are correct in saying very few people will take adventure bikes off road, but that's not the reason why people buy adventure bikes. I bought my adventure bike because its massive, comfortable, shaft drive, and the engine is best suited to tour through Europe, its got loads of torque to get up alp passes, and hasn't got a rev hungry irritating inline four engine. I like the way it looks, that Suzuki just looks cheap and nasty
@vikingventuresuk61222 ай бұрын
couldn't disagree more fella I'm afraid, the GS is a brilliantly balanced all round machine i agree but lacks any kind of character and originality because there so popular but ultimately almost £10k more than this Suzuki and will be no where near as much fun to ride and i can almost guarantee that the Suzuki will last a lot longer! ive toured through Europe on my GS and found it to be big and cumbersome and ultimately unnecessary. these cross over bikes are breathing fresh air into the sports touring market and i can only recommend that you take one out for a spin you'll hand your keys back to BMW
@AldredsquashUk2 ай бұрын
@@vikingventuresuk6122 maybe if I bought my GS brand new I couldn't justify spending that sort of difference, but a secondhand one a few years older is a far better bike than buying the Suzuki, there not in the same class

@@vikingventuresuk6122 they might be boring. Doesn't matter what bike you ride, if you love it then that's all what matters.

O Viking! Look a little closer. This is actually a 470 lb. Mahindra. It is morbidly obese. The only part of it that is BSA is the tank badges. The real Gold Star is the DBD 34. One of the reasons for its wonderful performance was its light weight--well under 400 lbs. The British designers of this imposter evidently decided that weight does not matter. How many of them are actually motorcyclists?

A sport tourer should be evaluated that way and then issues presented such as vibs, significant turbulence with the stock screen and a seat that after about 100-150 miles is quite uncomfortable on the butt. The engine is bullet proof with a strong history, but the above 3 items make it a questionable sport tourer for me. Thanks for your review.

Tsukigi ti downpipes, Beringer discs etc. Anyway, what a great buy - enjoy!

I have a 1250RT and not real crazy about it plus like you said the longterm reliability of a BMW is concerning, maintenance costs are high, etc. I've watched several videos on the new GX but haven't found anyone making a comparison with the Tracer GT. I know it's a 100 cc smaller but sort of in the same vein as the GX vs the S1000XR, the Tracer is a little bit cheaper than the GX. Have you rode the Tracer and for the difference in price would you lean toward the Tracer?
