Haven’t had the pleasure yet, I’ve had a short ride on an mt09 sp and enjoyed that, I’ve also had a day on a mt10 sp , now there’s an exciting bike, brakes and fuel consumption let it down badly 😰

Rode up to Carlisle from Bucks easter weekend, did some local whizzing around and back to Mordor we went. Two up, luggage and rain. My first little tour on the xr after a 1200g shitbrokeagain s. Better than expected comfort for me, less so for the pillion but not awful. Buzzy afer a twin,obviously,but more than i expected. I love it. Ed: 3 day trip.

Great review , im shopping this BMW against the Suzuki GSX-1000GX , GSX-1000GT , Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and the Yamaha Tracer 9GT+ . its a tough decision especially with being able to get the Kawasaki for thousands cheaper than any of these bikes here in Canada lol

I am in the same position between this BMW and Ninja 1000sx. Waiting to see his response 👍

GSXS1000GX, EBC-HH brake pads, Michelin Road6GT tires, that's my next bike. Overpriced BMW? Naaah

On the s1000xr, i prefer riding in dynamicpro mode, which is fully customizable with abs, lift control, power delivery. For some reason, bmw hide this and requires an activation. I love this bike. Smooth on the low rpm, but a beast and a rocketship after 8k.
@vikingventuresuk61229 ай бұрын
Yea got to agree its an amazing bike but very viby after 4k rpm could feel it heavily through the foot rests, seat and bars. if i had to choose between the XR and the GX it would be hard but ultimately the GX would be coming home with me

The activation is no longer necessary in the newer S1000XR's. It is automatically activated after the first maintenance, no more dongle like on the first version of this machine.....

First time viewer, really enjoyed your video and honesty. I have a 1250RT and not real crazy about it plus like you said the longterm reliability of a BMW is concerning, maintenance costs are high, etc. I've watched several videos on the new GX but haven't found anyone making a comparison with the Tracer GT. I know it's a 100 cc smaller but sort of in the same vein as the GX vs the S1000XR, the Tracer is a little bit cheaper than the GX. Have you rode the Tracer and for the difference in price would you lean toward the Tracer?
@vikingventuresuk61227 ай бұрын
Not a chance, the GX is the best sports adventure I've tested hands down even better than my beloved Multistrada its just a completely rounded package. id recommend testing the tracer and the Gx back to back and the difference is outstanding! thanks for watching my video by the way i really appreciate it

Hi there enjoyed the vid. I do like the bmw but like you say it's expensive. That being said I'm between the suzuki GX and the tracer 9 gt+ obviously you highly rate the GX but just curious what your thoughts on the tracer, if you have ridden it that is. My current bike by the way is a 2017 tuono v4 1100 factory which won't be getting sold hahaha love it too much. Cheers Mike
@vikingventuresuk61229 ай бұрын
Hi mike and thanks for the comment fella, ill be doing a video comparison on the tracer GT and having ridden it previously i can quite confidently say that the GX walks all over it in every aspect. That is my point of view though and what might be good for me wont necessarily be good for you so id always recommend testing both bikes and making a choice between them.
@Tuonov41100mike9 ай бұрын
@@vikingventuresuk6122 thanks for the reply pal and your honest opinion....yeah I'm going to get a test ride on both bikes see which i prefer, just a pity you have to pay extra for things like heated grips, centre stand, panniers etc from suzuki as with the yamaha they are all included. But defo going to ride both bikes. Thanks again for the reply. Cheers Mike.
@vikingventuresuk61229 ай бұрын
@@Tuonov41100mike no problem at all fella, to be honest i should really have stated what equipment comes with the bike but im not a fan of centre stands, panniers or heated grips for that matter 😂 if i go touring i always use a roll bag its less bulk on the bike all the time. you'll love the GX mate its real riders bike
@stephenlacey6539 ай бұрын
Having ridden both i’d say that the GX is a softer bike, the XR is more of a superbike with upright ergonomics.
@Tuonov41100mike9 ай бұрын
@@vikingventuresuk6122 yeah fair enough pal, i get cold hands easily lol so heated grips are nice for me haha, but the other extras defo not deal breakers. I'm looking forward to having a go on the GX now after your comments and review, like i said will still ride tracer as well even if its just to rule it out. Again thanks for the replies. Cheers Mike.
