So I have a 2014 Jeep JKU Had a leak in the lower rad hose so I replaced it. But the heater has never worked as long as i’ve owned the car, never really needed to fix it given where I live it doesn’t really get cold. When burping the system (without heater on because it doesn’t work) The coolant began to boil into the funnel and I turned off the engine. Should I burp it again or is the boiling normal? Also the thermostat has not been over heating it stays very close to the middle. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I just did thermostat and upper rad hose. Could get it to bleed. U reminded me to turn the heater, thanks. Duh to me. I sat my jeep at a slight incline with the front higher. I don't know if that helped but it certainly didn't hurt. Thanks again!!!

I just did my 2022 ford escape, everything went great except when it came time to take the car out of brake maintenance mode, Nothing worked, I had to have the car towed to the ford dealer and they had to call ford computer tech guys to get it out,, Don't be like me put your car in maintenance mode and back out before doing the brakes just to make sure it works,, buyer beware

I was stressed then I read one of the comments about the locking screw that attaches the window to the regulator. You have to lower the brace that holds the window until it shows in the two holes about two thirds down. once the screws show you are able to place the window in the braces and lock them with a socket wrench and then test. I also had a BSD error and my button on my door doesn't work, so now I have to figure that out. The BSD I read said it needs to be calibrated, hope that doesn't cost the $900.00 I saved! Thanks!

Just did this same thing on my 2016 encore this weekend. Mine only has 48k. When i got in there i noticed the 3 pulley bolts werent very tight nor were half of the ten bolts that hold pump on. 😅 I coated the gasket mating surface with a light film of Right Stuff to make sure no leak. When i transferred my pump bolts i took a black sharpy and numbered each bolt and housing.

@donniepreseau8611 GM had 3 different lengths so you have to take a measurement to determine what size it needs to be. I got lucky and put the cap on and was good to go. You may have a different outcome. I had to Google how to take that measurement properly.

The fight is real! Some vehicles have cooling systems that are a real pain to bleed out, others can be very easy. I have the UView Airlift system that you talked about and while it does work quite nicely, I will say that it works best when you start with a completely empty cooling system. The emptier, the better. Like, drain the block empty. If you don't have the system empty enough, the tool will start sucking coolant out when it's trying to vacuum air out of the system and won't pull a strong vacuum. It's also handy for leak testing the system before you fill. You pull a vacuum, close off the valve and check back in 20 minutes. If it didn't hold the same vacuum level, you have a leak. It won't tell you where the leak is, just that there is a leak. To find the leak (with a completely empty system) pressurize the system to the rated capacity on the cap and spray suspect areas with soapy water. There are pneumatic cooling system pressure testers for this.
@HotRodDave
@HotRodDave Ай бұрын
Great info. I love my coolant pressure tester. It has saved so much time over the years finding leaks. I have an old BG coolant flush machine out back that I used when I had my Commercial repair shop. It works just like a vacuum fill set up. The tank got cracked so I just use the old funnel.

Thanks for sharing this repair. I'll be doing the exact procedure in my driveway on a project truck I bought. Drained the transmission yesterday and found two of the reverse servo bolts undone. I suspect someone was in there, so I'll have to check on the condition of this servo and the proper length of the pin. Your video really helps to get my head around this. Should be simple enough to check and fix as needed.

You need to measure and find out what size rod you need first. I got mine on ebay but that was a few years ago. You should be able to do a quick search on google for more info on how to measure the rod size you need and for the part. Some people just weld some on to the rod and grind it smooth for the size they need.
