Years and years later, the story is mentioned. A young family lived in the neighborhood and were often seen walking around, visiting homes. A drunk driver killed the young mother and daughter early in December, before that Christmas... some presents were already wrapped. Sitting there for all time maybe. Everyone had lost a best friend and their cutest neighbor child. Weeks didn't ease the pain but one neighbor realized they no longer saw the grieving man. People gave him space, gave him time. Some watched from upper windows for any sign of life... only an occasional light behind curtained windows. More neighbors retreated inside, too. They would all realize the losses, and often sat alone in their thoughts inside their walls. Drunk drivers. Bloody hell.
