So how much money would you need to throw into one of these etfs to get back something worthwhile later? Why allocate some money here instead of S&P for example?

The question a person needs to ask, is how much will cybersecurity be growing over the next 10 years? If that happens to be greater than the average of the S&P 500, then that is where the potential lies

@phdonme1 0 seconds ago So I need to travel a hundred miles from my house and I want to book a trip on one of these. How does this work? My HOA is probably going to ask questions too after my neighbor's call and say a helicopter is landing on the street in front of their house. Because they definitely wouldn't allow me to own one of these things here How is that going to be presented to them. it would agro my neighbors for sure. Explain how this is better than an Uber Don't forget also allegedly Tesla's going to have robo taxis all over the place. And these companies are already 3 to 5 years behind. How are they going to capture market share and overcome the initial cost of production? Because just a single instance of something going wrong would cause that entire sector to lose support.
@BusinessWithBrianКүн бұрын
Please take a moment and think of existing infrastructure. Is this how you would operate a helicopter? Would you keep it at your house? Unless you live in the country, it would be at an airport. There will be a large market of people that would choose a 10 minute flight from JFK to downtown Manhattan versus an hour's drive. Same is true for San Francisco to Napa. I'm not here to convince anyone of anything. But 14 years ago, I was having this same conversation with friends about Tesla. Food for thought.
@phdonme1Күн бұрын
@@BusinessWithBrian That already exists and it's a helicopter The company is called fly blade And it's actually a 5-minute trip for 195.00 So you're telling me this form of transportation is slower than fly blade. And they're going to have to compete with 195.00 price point. From a company who is already logged tens of thousands of hours. Interesting business strategy They're also going to have to build their own helipad because that company doesn't share any helipads with anybody. So tell me how this is going to be profitable. Lot of infrastructure to build out Having to match a very cheap price point It will travel there in twice the time that the competition does.

Never happening in United States. Maybe for tourist stuff ever non-occupied areas I don't care what contracts or what signed A single catastrophic failure could cause dozens of deaths. And immediately bankrupt any company while not being able to compensate the people who were killed. There is zero feasibility in this and nobody is asking for it Which means there will be very little if any adoption Could you imagine one of these being mistaken for a threat and being shot down. If you think this is a new idea go look up the molar sky car which has been in production for 50 freaking years. Bet this will never happen

Adding JEPI and JEPQ is smart for nearing retirement. As for staying committed to higher-risk investments, it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals. Maybe consider diversifying your portfolio to spread out the risk.

I have 10k in gold and silver, 1k in my bank acount, and 1k in cash. My hourly rate at my full-time job is $16 and I'm 20 years old with my car being my only bills. Am I doing it wrong?
@brettkruskie3 күн бұрын
Gold and Silver are not as valuable as you might think. Sure upfront the value is good, with exceptions that the mindset is longterm growth. You need to find yourself assets. Your job though is not going to provide enough revenue to supplement that growth. Your chance to build "meaningful wealth" is unlikely. Some like to call this a "hustle" but in truth, $16 an hour is not going to be anywhere enough. It can be a start though... I would suggest selling off the gold and silver, buying bonds or investments that appreciate with market values. High yield savings accounts can also be beneficial for early savers. If you don't have a 401k right now you should.

Sell some of that metal at these all time high prices and enroll at a vocational/technical school and learn some skills that are worth real money. I’m not blowing smoke up your ass, I worked with my hands for 45 years. Once you get rolling with a career, invest in index ETFs and your money will grow with the rest of the world. Max out any retirement plans that your employer will match. If not available, open a Roth IRA. The sooner you get started, the easier will be your retirement. It’s all just as attainable as it was for my generation. Don’t compare yourself to others. Stay busy making yourself the best you can be. Get moving, you can’t buy time.

😂 First thing there my first job coming out of college. I had a job of $65000. You said you are fifty years old, so your college was less expensive and your pay was extraordinarily more than most people. $1 in 1997 is worth $1.95 today so you're job straight out of college was really more like a job that pays $170,000 today 😂 you likely had far less debt from college too "Since 1990, average tuition and fee rates have increased 130% after adjusting for inflation" I'm SO tired of this "it's so easy just do what we did" mentality as if we live in the same system they grew up in and have the same opportunities 😂

I appreciate the note. I truly do. But your numbers and assumptions are grossly inaccurate. I graduated in 2005 and started my job in 2006. That was with 5 years of military experience at the age of 31. Yes, i started with a high salary, but that was solely because of 5 years serving my country. You are welcome to take my exact route and join the military, but someone graduating at the average age of 24, will be making substantially more than I was when they are 31. But that doesn't happen by chance. It's hard work, pushing to be the best, and taking on additional responsibilities. Add some side hustles, and a lot of people can blow my earnings out of the water.
@lizf13533 күн бұрын
@@BusinessWithBrian my numbers are not pulled out of the sky friend those are the acknowledged facts. If you didn't graduate at 24 and instead a few years later at 31. Then sure there's a marginal difference but the reality remains the same income is not keeping pace with the previous value of a dollar not even close. Education costs go up exponentially as the value of said Education in the workforce goes down. Debt from school is getting to a place where if you pay a bit more than the minimum loan repayment amount for 5 years and you left school with a $50,000 debt after those 5 years you'll owe $50,100 🤣 we are in a late stage capitalism social collapse were the middle class is factually ceasing to exist and 1% of our society has 99% of the wealth. It just is the case. I'm glade it worked out for you I really am but we need to systematically change what is happening not just continue a narrative of everyone could do it if only they just worked harder. The vast majority of bankruptcy in America is from medical bills. Even those with insurance are often decimated by a sudden illness or injury. Half of our nation can't afford a $500 emergency expenses without not meeting their basic needs of housing/food. It's just factually not the same world it was even a short time ago and shows no signs of improvement
@christwombly41643 күн бұрын
You say that the numbers are “grossly inaccurate” and follow it up with “u just need to work hard”. What are the statistics you’re pulling from? The comment challenging you is 100% legitimate and if you actually cared, you’d do a lil research to back what you’re saying. Silly
@BusinessWithBrian3 күн бұрын
@christwombly4164 the other person stated I graduated in 1997 and what that is worth. Those are all inaccurate, and that's what I corrected. The person made the assumption I was in my 20s making an unrealistic salary, but it was with 5 years of military experience. Every detail assumed about me was grossly inaccurate. Estimated time frames and the dollar value didn't match my reality. Those are the facts that I must surface.
@BusinessWithBrian3 күн бұрын
@lizf1353 Yes, I agree that your new points on society, debt, medical, and ability to afford an emergency are a concern. That's why I reference them in my videos verbatim with their sources. But sadly, I can't boil the ocean, and I can't fix society. But what I can do is help share good financial information tied to personal experience. Our society may lack in a lot of areas, and one of those areas is education on Personal Finance. You mentioned that the difference between 1997 and 2005 is marginal. I made my first million in 8 years. Looking at it that way, it isn't marginal. I list out every detail and mistake in the long form video.

I am 33 thinking right now to start investing long term on stocks. But everyone says market will crash after rate cuts begin so I’m thinking to wait and put all my money in a money market account yielding 5% a year. At least it’s something and I’m sure it won’t go anywhere. What’s your thought should I start now or wait for a potential crash?
@philcrowley0073 күн бұрын
I think you should at least start the process of dollar cost averaging into the market. The right time is always now. Perhaps put the money in the money market to begin then each week, take a set amount and sprinkle it into your allocations. The market will crash, eventually. It always does. But pro tip, people will ALWAYS be talking about the coming crash (: Literally, always. It has been like this for a decade, and many, many people have lost juicy returns by sitting on the sidelines. That said, I say start ASAP and stay consistent.
