Rather than messin' with slings ever consider making a 'rig' for attaching 2nd rifle to your pack or modifying a decent rifle carrier (with shoulder straps) to fit your field gear? I use a sling but I get your 'sling management' issue. I adapted a sniper drag bag for a winter elk hunt once - wasn't bad. Placing support arm in the sling and wrapping once around the forearm for support - didn't we call that the 'expedient sling support position' or something like that? The slack in the sling for shouldering was about the right length for that it seemed. I still use it on occasion.

i have a couple large packs suitable for carrying rifles. but for the hunting im doing right now the pack i use is a day pack. in fact i am always trying to get away with a smaller pack. just not going to support a rifle. good thinking though. and yes, that was what they called it. expedient sling support.

@@renaissancemarinetv3536 Yeah - when you struggled for the 'term' I had a mind rush back to 'Edson Range' at Pendleton! If you don't mind spending some money I've seen slings that have pull tabs for really quick adjustments. Look at the 'high end' brands and possibly Magpul, Uncle Mikes and Cabela's/Bass pro lines. If nothing else you might get some ideas to modify your own.

For keeping the buckles quiet-have you tried self-adhering wrap? The kind used for bandages. It comes in dozens of colors, and even camo patterns. Dollar Tree used to sell it in black, haven't seen it in a while in my local store.

Is it 100% necessary to use the wood glue? I was planning on making a 48” 4x4 post for indoor use only for a gear stand. But unfortunately I don’t have wood glue so I was just going to do 8 screws, 4 at each end. Would this work?

️ Islam: a political ideology pretending to be a religion that stole pieces of the torah and bible and promotes warfare to non muslims(Kaffir) encourages lying (taqiyyah) to further their political ideology it's not a "religion" that's just a cover to avoid criticism conquest is always the goal thats why they invade non muslim countries do not let these people in.

I made some of these. To me they are darn near heavy duty. I pound them through what should be soft ground but hit small rocks or roots. These do not deform or bend, so far! I use a 2.5" eye-bolt and put them through top or second from the top of the stake. I believe I used 3/8" eye-bolts. I had to drill the hole out. I use both regular nut and nylon lock nuts. I like using caribiners and the eye-bolt makes it easy and fast to connect to, especially if you store your guy lines with caribiners at each end. I cut some with a pointy tip but leaving the straight cut they work just as well. These work very well in softer ground. I use DIY 12" nail-stakes for hard, compacted dirt in the desert. They probably can be used as is, but I used this technique. LOVE them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnXQq4mph8lkjdE

That patrol pack accompanied the CFP-90 Pack. They were tested briefly by the Corps in the early 90s but was done away with due to the rubberized "duck foot" adjustment yoke constant failures. The Army kept this pack prior to Molle.

Happy birthday brother i used the pft calculator on the Marine Corps website, and it says the score for a 51 year old male is the same as for a 63 year old male to pass, but good on you for doing it anyway. Most 63 year olds a sitting on couch instead of doing a pft.😂

1st generation mollie pack. I have a true odd ball piece of equipment. It's a gortex poncho with a zipper and buttons. It's pretty cool and actually can be used like a bivy or a sleeping bag with a poncho inside. I have been told it was probably something experimental that never made a true production or it was an item made for a specific unit. The store I bought it from told me they have only seen a few pass thru. But it makes an excellent cover to block sun. Haven't actually used to yet but it's definitely a cool piece and unique.

Again those are not needles their again like I said supposed to be on the end think spear not needles some of them are different types of Spears I call them Spears there is another name I cannot remember right now but these points are for the purpose of when you set traps in hunting... And I will be perfectly honest I would never use them for that me personally I would take my other tools that I have and I probably turn them into something more useful for me but that's me remember I'm a former metalsmith I can direct my youngins to figure out what I'm trying to explain to them congratulations on being able to afford the ready man I'm assuming you're rich enough to do that I just was hoping when I clicked on this that you would actually know what all the bits and Bobs are for I mean I know what most of them are for there's just one piece that I would really like to know how to put together and that is the stove part and yes there's a stove part that's a part of this but I don't expect you to understand because like I said you have money to burn and I don't.
