Glad you missed 'Helene'. I can't even find much of the gear you run into and then you practically 'steal' them too! Then when you laugh about how good of a deal you got - it almost hurts! Good finds.

@@renaissancemarinetv3536 I'll be doing the same. If we're smart we'll use the money for something else besides 'more' surplus gear...

That Air Force pouch is handy. Boy and i got the blueish color and put small plano tackle box in for wading in the river. Wear them and others on any lightweight chest rig. Thanks for posting

@@renaissancemarinetv3536did you through it in the wash? Joking aside, I have sets of keys that I sometimes lend out are hot pink, hunter orange in colour and a Hello Kitty master key 🔑. I always get them back and can find them when they are dropped. Some of the “ clients “ I deal with think it’s hilarious when I deal with them and it’s a great icebreaker to help defuse situations. I also have a flash bang pouch with a stuffed toy duck peeking 👀 out to show that I’m down to my last duck 🦆 as additional icebreaker. 🍺🇨🇦🫡🇺🇸🍺

I just recently picked up an AWS beavertail in m81 like new, the camera definitely adds a few pounds to the pack lol meaning it looks bigger on video than it actually is 🤣. I see why that design is so popular though, like you said just big enough for the essentials. Great finds, thanks for showing!

You dodged a bullet with hurricane Helena. I am green with jealously for that compass. I had to buy mine new on Amazon.

There are a few reasons they got rid of the ILBE system. The major one was that neither pack really worked well with SAPI plates. They basically rolled from side to side on top of the plates when you cinched down the compression straps
@renaissancemarinetv35363 ай бұрын
ive read that but someone, mountain smith or arcteryx or eberlestock...came up with 4 little foam pieces that fixed that.

@renaissancemarinetv3536 they may have. I never saw them during my time. I have both and used both while I was in. Overall, I like the FILBE better, but I'd say the ILBE is more durable

@@ryanthede4689 Yeah - finding either in good shape is rare. Marines are just hard on gear! GI Army gear isn't quite as cool but you can still find a lot of it in excellent shape.
@ryanthede46893 ай бұрын
@paul7754 we're probably not any harder on gear. It's just that the Marine Corps doesn't have the budget for anything new so it gets used over and over again. Half of our radios when I was in had Army unit markings on them and all the wires looked like a rat chewed on them. We were told they were brand new
