Southern Indiana here, rust is everywhere. You grow up learning how to use what you have on hand to do the work you need to do. I dont even own an impact or a compressor. It is all hand tools for EVERYTHING I do. But it gets done! Much love and respect from Southern Indiana brother.

We recommend replacing both the inner and outer Tie rod Ends at the same time...if one has become loose the other has been put through the same amount of wear...and if it isn't loose it may be due to having rust powder build up inside it...and it's better to be safe than sorry...getting that nut off to recover the boot is alot easier with a cut off wheel for us in Minnesota...

My 1998 F-150 has 50k miles, always garaged and maintained. My problem is that the air conditioner and compressor are on even when I turn it to the heat setting. It turns off in the off position and the blend door works

Years ago I tried to drain coolant from a radiator peacock, the peacock broke off inside of the radiator. That led me to find this method of drain and refill which is better.

Lol. The new Bauer half inch impact is actually pretty solid. 3 months ago I bought it as a temporary tool until I could save up for the new Milwaukee 1/2. But the Bauer has been doing very well at only $140.

This was a 2023 Aviator that had a crank in the driver cylinder head. The crack happened to be on a coolant jacket that caused a terrible coolant leak from the head.

Was oil leaking?? When replaced, does leaking stop??
@neighborhoodmechanic38228 күн бұрын
Yes there was also an oil leak. The oil leak did stop after I replaced the sensor. But beware, the valve cover gaskets are known to leak on these vehicles.

I'm having this same isdue on 2014 Mazda CX9 (basically an Explorer). I had it drained and filled at the dealer but I'm suspect of the work they did. I'm thinking of doing it myself.
@neighborhoodmechanic382214 күн бұрын
To be honest, I was skeptical of the drain and refill working on this explorer but it did. I would say that it works at least 50 % of the time. A co-worker had the same issue and did the drain and refill and fixed his shudder as well.

@@neighborhoodmechanic3822 I appreciate the feedback. As I was doing my research some people said it was hit or miss. Some had to change their spark plugs. It's that notorious downshift shutter from 5th to 4th and shuttering upshift. Again preciate it.

believe it or not the vehicle still ran well. The leak is close to the exhaust outlet, so I don't believe much coolant went into the combustion chamber. I'll be tearing it down next week, but I expect to find a coolant jacket leaking near the exhaust port.
