2016 Ford Transit - lift points

This is a video to show where the proper lift points are on a 2016 Ford Transit t-250. It is tempting to try and lift the vehicle on the pinch weld. but because of the weight of the vehicle, that method would render the lifted vehicle unsafe. i was doing the flex coupling recall for this vehilce.

Your video is 5 years old and is still helping people. I'm an amateur mechanic who is fortunate to have a 2 post lift, and had no clue where to set the pads on my T250. Everything I considered looked sketchy.

I'm gonna try this. We get tires and oil changes on these all the time through a fleet account at my shop and I've always been lifting them one wheel at a time with a floor jack or crawling under or had to use the alignment rack to lift them. This will be a life saver if it works with our lifts

Awesome. I work at a Lincoln dealership now so I don’t see them as much, but back when I worked for a Ford dealership, I’ve racked literally hundreds of these transits with this technique.

Where did you get those those yellow metal extensions that you placed on the lift to reach the bottom of the van?

the equivalent spots (a "joint' on the "ladder" of the chassis frame) on other cars seems to be discouraged. why is it ok for the transit?

It’s a different design. I’ve tried lifting it on the pinch-welds..... trust me you don’t wanna do that.
