Also did you paint the wall instead of using panel boards between vertical boards.

You are right. I glued a back-band to MDF, and painted the drywall.

Where did you purchase the top chair rail and board for top edge, or did you glue those two together to make the rail top before cutting angles.

I quit an outfit that thought you could run crown in a 12 x 14 room with inside outside angles perfectly in four hours or less. This is why people are leaving the trades. It cannot be done that fast unless that’s all you do is crown moulding for at least 5 years straight.

One can use a transition blocks when mixing 2 different profiles. And sometimes, like in your case, one can use the top part of the baseboard only to go around and over the stringer. This way one can miter the base with the stair moulding correctly. Butting trim like you did looks terrible. They are two separate trim details butted together. A pro would never do what you did, I'm sorry.

On the double miter side if you angle is 55 and you miter saw only cuts 50 degrees?
@SawsetTools

Good point. My miter saw saw goes up to 70 degrees. Beyond 50 is rare. But when it happens, I use my table saw. Sawset also works with table saws.

This m8ght sound stupid because it says where to put the t bevel, but how do you know where to exactly hold it so that you get the accurate angle.i feel like it would give the wrong angle if I held the bevel say like 1/8" to the left or right "too much"
@SawsetTools
@SawsetTools 10 ай бұрын
Hey Brian, Where the vertical line meets the horizontal line is the point where the t bevel's blade has contact. This You tuber shows it better than I do. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6vIhnppp5qLpbs Hope this helps.
