Ngl, this has to be the longest convoluted rant just to tell us that you really like Ace Combat but I suppose it fits the message. Just like Ace Combat, its like watching a crazy person ramble and be mesmerized by it. You know theyre crazy but you are still drawn to it.

I long for the day we S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s get the open world multiplayer experience we need, exploring the Zone, collecting artifacts and, after completing a mission, share some tunes close to a fire, feasting on some turist's delight, bread and sausage. Until then, be careful, don’t forget your gas masks and GOOD HUNTING STALKERS!

The only experience I have with Ace Combat before this video is from watching my brother play a couple missions in AC7 a few years ago and having Daredevil and Archange from the same game in my playlist for ages. I've always heard good things about the games, but I've never really tried them out because I wasn't always a big aviation girl and I figured they were your typical flight sim, which I've tried before and not really liked the gameplay of (I tend to prefer more action-oriented games with stories over simulators, lol). But after getting the series recommended to me by a ton of people after getting into Armored Core earlier this year, and then seeing this video, I think this series is something special. I'm working my way through AC7 right now and absolutely loving it, and I plan on playing through all the other games in the series after that. Thanks for getting me to try what is now one of my new favorite series of all time! PS: holy shit this series' music is amazing, I'm a musician myself, and tracks like Daredevil are a huge inspiration to me and what I write now, it's SO good, lol

Big Sherpa started another playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 and I had to come back and watch this incredible video. Especially at this moment where I am frantically scrambling to get things done so I can leave the United States. I’m rushing so much and I literally see nothing to stop and appreciate at the moment. But this. I can play in the background as I do the things I need. And it’s is calming. Thank you Timmm.

I really loved this video. It spurned me to reinstall ACAH and play it. I'm really loving it, and once I'm done, it's on to ac7. Cheers, thank you for posting this video, as a former kid that used to sit on the floor of my room playing with my airplanes :)

We think the same , when the bullets stop, the Game is coverded by thisnopennwolrd, Beautyly designed and fun to SEE. There are two spooky places, the light turning dark and the fog. Bye

AC7 absolutely points toward the direction the series should go in visuals and gameplay. It looks so good and feels so fluid to control. But the story really suffered. It was convoluted, twisting, and never really came to a single moment of conclusion. The Spare squadron, particularly, felt shoehorned in. It would have been a much better story had you simply been part of the LRSSG from the beginning, and it would have made certain story beats over Farbanti much more impactful

Me? I'm from the southern US, an Army vet, and I love shooters. So I got the game back in 2020. This isn't a museum for me, it's a time machine. I was born in 1970 so in 1989 I was...19. I've never been to Sweden, but GZ is so FULL of remembered 1980's nostalgia that I literally fall into it like a portal every time I play. The countryside is virtually identical to the land I lived on back then, and hiked for miles over. I was a loner then; this game is me personified. The weapons take me back to the gritty just-after-the-fall-of-the-Berlin-Wall Cold War era I served during, at a time when the storyline of the game could have played out in reality. At least without the robots. How many hours did I listen to music that was virtually identical to what I'm luring robot dogs with? I don't know, but I'm approaching 2000 hours in this game, all of it single player, and I love it as much today as I did when I started because it makes me young again. You can live your Second Life, operate within your VR worlds. I'll take this because it RESONATES. I enjoyed your observations on the items from your culture...I'll examine all of that the next time I stop in a little town there. I have a 4 year old grandson now who whenever he comes to my house he wants to play "Robot Dogs". He's almost better than me now lol. I'm going to make sure that he understands it in the way you and I do. I also strong-armed my kids and wife into getting me all of Stalenhag's books for my birthday this last year. 😁 PS - I'm in a dire search for a Volvo 244, and I have an irrational passion about it. This from an Irishman/Brit/German, no less. SUBBED.

what even is this? if you have a filming itch just make a short film or a music video idk, why is a cheesy generic video game essay with text on screen shot like an artsy fartsy documentary piece about you? "i'd like to talk about videogames and get the gamer clicks but how do i make it about me instead?" youtubers are such fuсking narcissists it's unbelievable. EFAP needs to mock people like HiTop even more. also i hate how when its time to show the actual games (and not yourself) youtubers just plug the footage of them casually streaming the game with their hahahehe commentary, it is so low effort. in this one it's especially jarring cos the theme is suppose to be these immersive miserable worlds and then it's you goofing around in the game with a stupid funny tune. dislike, don't recommend channel.

I'm from Argentina, and I have almost 200 hours into the game, can't explain exactly why. The robots are cool and all that, but I think I also started playing at the best moment, just before the introduction of the NPC, and just after the big map revision. So, it had a strong feeling of "left behind" in a time period that was kind of familiar, but also in a place recognizable as "another country". That kicked my exploration senses, and the exploration was rewarding because of the easter eggs, collectables and stories you can gather, with the robots making things dynamic and challenging.

Blazing angels was such a gem, it had the same dna as ace combat with it's focus on bombastic music and action heroics but set in ww2, it could have had a bright future in it's own right but sequel didn't do so well and the industry moved on from ww2 games soon after. It's such a shame.

Coming back to this again simply because the intro struck me as being so well written. it's like the script form of watching someone slam dunk and really feeling that ball get driven in there in your bones. like, RGGGH. you GET that sumbitch of a paragraph. you better WORK.

The movie Top Gun is an honorable mention, but to me, it's a bit unfair because there was a game of the same name and not at all of the same open arena game play. Furthermore, prior to the movie Top Gun, there was another positively great movie with real Navy footage..... The Final Countdown.
