@@JACKLINSANFORD they’re called lumberjack skillets I believe you can get them online and most time the handle detaches from it, but they are and metal skillet that you still season like cast-iron. Hope this helps.

Nice video, well done. We still drag to the fire here in Nebraska. I have been cutting calves for over forty years and as long as my knees hold up, I will continue to do so. "Nuts" has always been a delicacy here and most resturants serve them as well. Just getting ready to send an ice cream bucket full to a fiend in Iowa from a branding I cut yesterday.

Hey Justin, I love your video and I am going to try to replicate this tonight. I tried my first peach cobbler recipe last night and it was a complete failure. It never set up in my 12" deep Lodge. This one with the flour on top looks more promising. I am one of the leaders for our Trail Life troop here in Norwalk, Ca and we strive to raise Godly men out of our children. We are getting ready to go on our first camping trip this weekend. I would love to be able to pull off your peach cobbler for our kids! Above all that, 1 John 5 11-12 is an amazing verse and is at the core of salvation! I believe I will be reading this verse around the campfire! Thanks for sharing brother!

@HorsePenRanch6 ай бұрын
Well, thanks for the info. That is the 1st Cabela’s Dutch Oven I’ve owned or cooked off of. I’ve only used lodge and older antique ones. I’ve been cooking in dutch ovens for almost 30 years and I have never needed a thermometer for my dutch oven. But if I ever do, now I know. Thanks for the info.
@DutchOvenCook6 ай бұрын
@@HorsePenRanch No problem. The Cabela's ovens are actually made by Camp Chef, but with the Cabela's name on them. That thermometer slot works great for the remote thermometers that you can put the probe in the meat, and then walk around with a remote to let you know the progress of your meat dishes. I've been cooking for over 50 years in Dutch ovens, and we have about 100+ ovens, and a 1894 Newton Chuckwagon that we do catering, competitions, educational cooks.

Exactly what I have in my recipe 3/4 a cup to a cup of milk. And that’s what I used and that works every time. I always start with 3/4 a cup because you can always add milk but can’t take it away real easy without adding more flour. Thanks for watching.
