Not sure, but the noise you get from the front motor can be a wheel bearing chopping out. The weight can accelerate the wear. Worth checking.

@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 15 сағат бұрын
@facsimile-io3dd oh i definitely checked that. Its already been a verified thing that the motor cable getting fried on both ends is the cause of the motor damage. It was probably due to having regen braking on so i turned it off from the app. It comes set at 50% from the factory and i had it at 60%. Maybe that was a bit too much. But i also brought this to Inmotion's attention so they can do their own testing ans verify what they can advise for RS owners moving forward.

I'd just pay more attention to brake maintenance. RS has thicker disks and 40 amp-hours. While regen is for coming down larger hills or mountains to keep brake fluid temperatures lower to prevent brake-fade. It's really not for routine recharge of the battery, IMO. Here's why: The battery does not discharge much downhill so overheating electronics isn't such an issue with regen use for downhill only. IMO, regen should thus be selectable on a switch on the handle bar (and it is on some), or don't bother to use it at all (unless your brakes are trash). Having it accessed via settings is almost useless, and may lead to you always having it on. Why is that bad? DC (battery) to AC (engine use) conversion thermal loss varies from 5% to 17%, as a scooter accelerates (i.e. battery discharge resistance loss, AC sine-wave conversion/filtering loss in controllers, cable loss, AC motor loss, and even tire traction thermal loss as well). This loss is all as heat, to be dissipated in electronics, then into a heat sink. So your electronics get hammered. If you then convert back from AC to DC (i.e. regen battery storage) it suffers rectifier conversion loss of about 18% a second time, to transform it from the AC sine wave current into DC battery storage. Then another few percent of loss as cable and battery resistance to recharge (which then heats battery cells and helps degrades them). All up the losses of around 22% occurs with regen. So regen makes more electronic heat than even acceleration does. Thus using acceleration, plus the regen, together, means you're constantly doubling the thermal dissipation required for every acceleration and deceleration cycle. This extra heat all has to go into electronics and a heat-sink to dissipate the added thermal stress. So you're losing about 35% to 40% of all AMP flows in your cables and controllers as heat into electronics, via combined DC to AC discharge, and AC to DC recharge conversion processes. So why do that for normal flat-ground riding with regen on? IMO, stop doing that. A 40 amp-hour scooter will easily get 90 km to 100 km range (with good speed) so there is no need for regen as you already can't physically ride that far on typical rides. So turn regen off, and bleed your brakes more regularly plus visually check the brake pads more often. Almost every part of the scooter will last longer if you do that. The brakes contain 'consumables' that are designed to be replaced. The electronics are not (except fuses). So bleed the brakes more often and carry spare brake pads in your tool kit. With no regen all the braking heat goes into the air-cooled disks, brake fluid and tires, not into the expensive thermal conduction-cooled cable insulation, controllers and battery.

@facsimile-io3dd very good info, and i read everything! You definitely know your tech. I wish others were like you. It would make explaining things easier. I do feel Inmotion should do what Apollo did and warn customers about the regen so the cables dont burn out from excessive heat from regen. I think it would help the life of the scooter.

@Brobronique under the app, you can select cruise control and set it to the first mode, which allows you to hold down your speed on the throttle and then press on any turn signal button for 3 seconds at the same time as holding down your throttle to activate the cruise control. The other option i dont really recommend as it will automatically do cruise control as you press down on the throttle and noticed it gives me a random speed and there is no way to adjust that unless i disable the cruise control by pressing on the brake handle and then speeding up again until i reach close to mt desired speed. Hope this helps. 🙏

@THEAVERAGEGUY1983
@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 3 күн бұрын
@SoloRider-hm2lk yep 100% aware of that, I made sure my plugs were fully tightened since i took it out of the box. I still think the cable melting for most users myself included now is a regen braking issue. The wire is not only receiving voltage to the motor, but the motor is also providing a bit of current back to the Sinewave controller and from the Sinewave controller to the battery. So im gonna see how it does with the regen braking off for now. But im already working on a motor and cable replacement under warranty. Thankfully, Inmotion is aware of this common issue and dont really fight you trying to deny a warranty claim, so im sure I'll be able to get a replacement motor and cable soon. I was already contacted and asked for the serial number of my scooter to process the claim. 😊👍

What kind of range are you getting on your RS driving at about 35? We are about the same size and most of the "range testing" people do is on a flat track with a 160 pound rider. Want some realistic numbers.
@THEAVERAGEGUY1983
@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 3 күн бұрын
@vitaminKUnit2 hi and thank you for commenting here. i get 40 miles realistically of range from 100% battery to 10% battery but its with stop and go traffic from 25Mph to 40Mph which is in Gear 2 the number i always have my RS in but this is also with my tires inflated to 50psi so the scooter rolls easier lol. The less PSI you have on the RS the less ramge you get but the smoother the road feels. So 45Psi would be the lowest i would honestly go. For me i think it's really a good range. If you ever ride chill like lets say you aren't in a rush to get somewhere and dont mind riding on a bike lane, you can get 60 miles of range going in gear 1 at 19Mph which is incredible! But not realistically safe unless its in a bike lane. This is my 100% honest feedback no BS at my current weight of 292 with gear on like a full face helmet, mt backpack with tools, water jug, knee and elbow pads on. I hope my feedback helps. And your right, the range most scooters brands provide is from super skinny people so no one ever knows what a 200+ lb rider can actually get unless they buy one and try it out.

Thanks for this informative video. Remember that Jesus Christ loves you. Normal isn't coming back brother, but Jesus Christ is! Bible prophecy is unfolding right before our very eyes. Prophecy is not meant to scare you, but rather prepare you for what is coming upon this entire world. I would much rather offend someone into heaven, than flatter them into hell. Really ponder about that. Satan doesn't want you to see this message. He definitely doesn't want you to see the ABC'S of salvation, because it's the powerful and perfect word of Almighty God. The God of Israel, of whom anyone can be reconciled back to by believing in your mind AND heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is the only way that leads to the absolute truth about eternal life. Love you brother... there is no such thing as coincidences in life. I cannot make you believe anything. All I can do is plant the seed and pray that God will provide the increase. Don't let devil drive your marriage apart. That's his #1 tactic. For having any problems, go to a good Bible teaching church, a church in which they do expository teaching, which means that they go verse by verse line by line through the Bible. There are many bad churches out there that are not preaching the truth anymore, and this is why we see so many people falling away from the faith. This is the great apostasy that was prophesied in the bible, that would occur in the last days. And yes, we are without a doubt living in the last days. It's all about israel. Israel is God's prophetic timeline. The hour hand is israel, the minute hand is Jerusalem and the second hand is the temple mount. Stay away from any churches that believe in replacement theology, which means that they believe the church or the body of Christ has replaced Israel. That is a Lie from the pit of Hell My brother. Anyhow, my email is the bio of my YT channel description in case you have any questions. Live a holy life that glorifies your creator, your Father... The Alpha and the Omega... the ancient of days. Who was, who is, and is to come. 👇 🔆A - Admit Admit what you have done wrong and ask forgiveness. Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness _______________________________________ 🔆B - Believe Believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again as a payment for your sins. @@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 It sounds to me as if their development engineering team maximized performances, via cutting into thermal safety-margin factors used to prevent thermal failure. So they put the temperature values into display software to put the onus back onto owners to limit how hard and how long they ride it, maxed-out. Personally I'd stay out of the highest power level, especially in Summer, because that will eat into the thermal margins that remain. Obviously it can do it (and was specifically designed for it) at max output, but that's still going to stress and harm itself faster especially up steep hills while carrying high weight--another thing it was said to be exceptional at. Yet everyone looks at the display and thinks, "Oh, that's so cool, the scooter displays cell and controller temperatures, plus detects cell imbalances." But not realizing that was done for specific reasons. Hence a Midnight version goes about 8 km/h slower than the first build of the RS. The Midnight's reported drop in top speed didn't happen for no reason, IMO. It attempts to reclaim thermal margins and improve long-term reliability (which personally I think is a good idea). But to obtain the initial market reputation of great speed and power, i.e. a 68mph claim, they cut back on thermal margin for the early production units that would get tested by influencers. And that worked, it got the company a leg up and the scooter a reputation as a really bad-ass but affordable production 'racing' scooter. Well, I'm glad the resellers did the right thing to get you rolling again. Time to make some riding content, looking forward to it, cheers.
