Jamie, I love your honesty and rawness❤ Keep making the videos you love and everything will fall into place. I’m going to try and take your advice and put the laundry away immediately. Lol, you’ve seen my videos, and I don’t usually do that!😂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

What made you go from using hamburger meat in your tacos to using ground chicken and sausage?
@coffeecarbsclutterАй бұрын
I was really craving Tacos and had run out of ground beef so I decided to experiment. I had some chicken that needed to be used so I decided to use chicken. Then it occurred to me to just throw caution to the wind and toss in the sausage. It was such a huge hit in my family that now it’s just how we make it. 😁

Yes! I feel like I am simplifying more and more over the years. Our house is 575 sq ft and there's 3 of us so we are extremely aware of when things are getting out of control. After lots of experimenting, our diet is super simple - mostly meat. We try not to buy anything we can't reuse (we even applied that rule to our wedding). Our toddler has a lot of stuff but we buy/acquire almost everything secondhand. I just don't bother with electronic gadgets and I'm trying to get as much plastic out of the house as possible. I love a great list and I got some good ideas from yours!

I've gotten kind of obsessed with these videos! Just a note that I hope doesn't sound too crazy... You don't want *any* of that oil! Watch a Dr Chris Knobbe video. I quit vegetable (seed) oils and lost migraines, headaches, back pain, sunburn, IBS like issues - and it's not just me! These oils are horribly oxidized even before you cook with them. The oxidized polyunsaturated fats in the oils get into your mitochondria and messes things up big time. Eat what you want - anything but vegetable oils - they are the epitome of ultra processed "food". Plus the alternatives are so much more tasty anyway 😅 (oils made from fruits are fine - coconut, avocado, olive...personally I prefer animal fats like butter, tallow, and bacon grease) Save space! Save your health! Win win!
@coffeecarbsclutterАй бұрын
Awww thank you for your kind words. We use coconut, Avocado, and Olive oils primarily in our home. You do not sound crazy at all but rather like your care about the health of others. I always appreciate feedback and suggestions. Thank you for watching and stay tuned because Battling Clutter 2.0 is about to kick off. ❤️

I absolutely love walking in there now and not being overwhelmed. I did put a temporary hamper in there but I really would like something less dorm room and more peaceful, maybe like a wicker hamper. Either way at this moment my kitchen, living room, and master closet are beautiful! Now on to the bedroom and bathroom. 😬😂

You did awesome. I have very few clothes. Our walk-in closet is all my husbands. A friend has given him so many T-shirts. Plus, his workplace gives him shirts with the company name on them. 85% he don't wear. I have given my brother and brother n law shirts to wear outside and do yard work. Our other 3 closets are storage. Holiday items, his model tank kits and comic books. And just odds and ends in the other. Really enjoyed your video.

Most cluttered space in my home is the kitchen, i love fancy or funny ceramic mugs, plates or ceramic deco. Or any sort of kitchen organize tools like boxes, trays bins big or small. This year 2024 i promise to myself to reduce and donate it making my kitchen space free of clutter. Minimalist is new begining

As a Respiratory Therapist I felt I needed to tell you to dispose of the nebulizer mouthpiece and tubing. They need to be cleaned after a few uses and then thrown out. Too many germs and microorganisms can grow there.

Good work decluttering digital and physical clutter! Mantaining a simplistic life takes alot of mantinence and I personally get alot of setbacks over the years after I begun my jouney because of "nice to have" mentality xD

I have done a great number of these for years. My Facebook friends have never numbered more than 11 people and most of them are far away family. My close family can tell me things at get togethers if they want to. I also rarely post anything on my Facebook account. I used to coupon for a hobby and have backstock but since downsizing and moving to an apartment I keep my pantry to one shelving unit. This also meant giving up the warehouse stores. I still miss them from time to time but no room to store the excess.
@Coffeebrain56747 ай бұрын
The word minimalist has been overused the past few years. To downsize and declutter objects that don’t serve your interests anymore is just smart. I would rather have my peace than things.
@coffeecarbsclutter7 ай бұрын
And that is definitely more what we are aiming for. We just want a simple home that we do not have to spend hours a week managing stuff. I’ve been decluttering for a year and still we have way too much inventory to manage. 😓😁

Glad you are back! The 40 in 40 sounds like a good plan! Not a homesteader-but it’s a lot of work, for sure. Spaghetti is our go to-I make my own sauce, no jars. Beef or ground turkey. In summer, I make it from fresh tomatoes from the garden-in winter from frozen I made from fresh or canned. (Remove skins). Really simple and you can adjust ingredients-I use both green and black olives, tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian spices, onions and garlic-but you can adjust and it’s still delish!

Look at how much it costs to cook each meal too. Your crock pot might be a lot cheaper than your oven. Include human energy too. If you spend all day cooking you can’t sort out your home at the same time. Try Acer Homestead Becky is great for meal prep. You could also have a vegetarian night to save money. Welcome back
@coffeecarbsclutter7 ай бұрын
Oh that is a good tip. I had not thought of the time or electricity costs. I love Acre Homestead. Becky makes some of the most amazing food. I’m still trying to perfect her frozen biscuit recipe but if I can get it perfected, that alone will save a couple bucks each grocery trip. Definitely going to take your suggestion of using my crockpot more. That is a really good point that if I’m spending all my time in the kitchen, I cannot get my home sorted.❤️

Budget meal idea and it reheats well on the stovetop too. Pound of ground turkey with garlic, cumin, onion and more garlic powder. Added a packet or 2 of madras lentil and then rice. We often use the microwavable brown rice from Trader Joes but can be Jasmine rice as well. Hope you enjoy it or anyone else who might try it.
