Yes, it's the 90hp version and I think it would suit your glastron well. This engine is also available in a 115hp version, it's identical to this engine with the same bore, same weight etc. but with more power in a similar package. I'd get one of those if I had the opportunity to choose. I bought this one because the price was right at the time and I don't regret doing so. It's been a great engine.

Couple of things I'd like to respectively suggest - give your windshield a thorough cleaning just before you gather such footage - your eyes don't see many things that a lens does. Also - what are the chances of a drone on follow mode as you make the ascent? Cutting back and forth between landscape, driver pov, and aerial would be super cool - especially since the combination of seeing your 635 on those roads in motion from various angles would be glorious. (I just stored my 1987 royal Blau 635 5 speed away for the winter) - can you tell that I already miss it now that I'm looking at others 635's on you tube - lol
@MoePower2

I agree, windscreen should have been cleaned. Footage such as this was filmed on the go during a roadtrip I was on, so windscreen got dirty many times a day. This was filmed 3500km away from home back in 2016, with limited amounts of cleaning equipment onboard. I don't have a budget to support a drone right now, but it would have been nice to have some aerial footage as you suggest. Especially on a steep hill such as this. Glad I'm not the only one looking at videos of the vehicles that is currently stored for the winter 😅

@MoePower2

There shouldn't be much difference between carbs and early FI systems if properly maintained. But it does have that lumpy 90 degree V4 characteristic when driving slow in the city and such.
@CptSlow89
@CptSlow89 Жыл бұрын
@@MoePower2 I have 3rd gen and rpm is slightly bouncing at idle, maybe +-100rpm and I guess thats normal for 32 years old motorcycle but probably some sync can improve that. I have that lumpy feeling when I am down low at rpm in 2nd gear 2000-4000rpm and accelerating. It is like the bike is lurching forward-backward. I was thinking it is the chain maybe but maybe this engine doesn't like low rpms?
@MoePower2
@MoePower2 Жыл бұрын
@@CptSlow89 Mine bounce a little too, depending on temperature. I think it's normal for a high rpm engine to have a slightly rough idle, so I wouldn't worry too much. Modern bikes often have variable cam timing as well as FI, to help with the idling and low rpm issues. Mine doesn't like accelerating hard below 3-4000rpm. It does pull, but you'll feel the engine vibrating a little. Slack in the chain will mostly affect the bike when going on and off the throttle or when coasting at lower rpm's, making the bike jerk a little as the chain is taking up the slack. It is quite noticeable when the chain is too slack.
@CptSlow89
@CptSlow89 Жыл бұрын
@@MoePower2 I measured slack and should be within the limits in the manual. Maybe the chain is old and stiff. But it isn't big problem but I want it 100% smooth. :) Here is the video of acceleration which I recorded so you can tell me your oppinion :). I didn't try to get lowest 0-100 time, so I rev the bike before launch. Also I had bad moments before of slipping the rear tyre when I accelerated hard from the 2nd gear, dunno if was the cold.older tyre or the pavement. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvYgI2XaZtlaaM

False alarm. Just pumping the oil bulb while running solved it. Mine is in really good condition just like yours. I don’t recommend scrapping the VRO. The problem with those was in the first iteration around early 80s. In the 90s the problem was gone, but the reputation was a bit damaged

Manual or auto and was it down hill? I have a 628csi too, and it's considerably slower than the 635csi. I have had 250km/h on the speedometer in the 635csi previously.
