I got my first Lasius N . a month ago, since this 4 weeks she has around 30 pup and at least 40 eggs and 12 workers, It's unbelievable how quickly the colony is growing, and the little ones are really bad ass, aggressive when it comes to food.

Your setup is exactly how I want to set mine up. My colonies are finally at the size to move out of their test tubes and into a proper setup. I'm going to by a hybrid mini, what tubing did you use to connect yours to the outworld, was it the same as AntsCanada or did you buy it yourself? Also where can I find that outworld?

If you don’t know, that water tower pond is for humidity. Not hydration ☝️ You still need water feeders and test tubes to offer your ant colony water to drink 😤 The steel mesh pond is for the queen and her larvae and pupae to rest on

I believe that steel mesh circular pond thingy is only for humidity for the queen and the brood. You still need to provide your ants a water feeder and test tubes with water ☝️

4:25 mine came in plastic and i swapped her to glass right away. Plastic - i think thats just less hygenic surface........ Also you can add *tesa flaps for anti roll* i mean really its not that special a "feature". Smart but not hard to replicate at all.

I got C. Foreli and am hyped about the future. They just have 500ish workers but those are a bit bigger and they dont need winterpause /but slow down a bit... which is ideal in many ways :) So far she got 4 workers and 10~12ish eggs. They took honey and a few small crickets so far so~ I think its a good start! I hope I dont screw this up... ^^"

How often do you use the syringe to fill the next with water?

All in ones always disturb the nest while feeding... Annoying. Having those seperate makes a world of difference.

Hi I from brazil and I have 2 colonies of crematogaster, their both the same species but I dont know how to indificate then, and one of the colonies have 2 queens, when I found the queens, it was like a party with like 10 queens togheter, and a lot of queens like that, there is a wall and I saw black points in there, 2 3 4 queens togheter

Tips for crematogaster colony please? My queen is very slow and idk what to do

I really like both my colonies of Aphaenogaster occidentalis. Jealous of your multiple queen colony! I've only ever found one queen per nuptial flight for some reason.

Semi claustrKs ants have a skinny abdomen but the queen needs to be fed also
