I have a 2000 gtx 951 carb, would like to pick your brain if i could, have power at the mpem but no power at the 3a fuse. Does this have to do with the diode? I have never had a mpem problem with any of my DI's. thanks Matt
@SeadooRefurb5 күн бұрын
Hmm. I believe the 3 amp fuse is an accessory fuse. I am not sure if that gets energized by installing the lanyard on the post or not. Does the machine run with no power one it ?

@SeadooRefurb The ski has no power to gauges, no beep and the start button does nothing. Have great power to the mpem.

I’m not sure if that was the only cause of that engine failure. I have the exact same problem, top piston ring totally fragmented just like yours on the front cylinder except this particular motor still has standard size pistons. I’m not sure yet why this keeps happening to these engines unless it has something to do with the carburetors not working correctly and perhaps causing one cylinder to run too lean as in my case I have one cylinder very oily and the failed cylinder dry as a bone. That’s the downside to having two separate carburetors, one for each cylinder. If one gets stopped up the engine still runs but cooks the cylinder with the stopped up carburetor.
@SeadooRefurb23 күн бұрын
That makes total sense to me. I have seen all kinds of different things that cause engine failure and a major part is owner neglect / poor service work / or mixing oils. (turns oil clumpy)

Well done Uncle Mark, I would say I find the engine builds to be the most interesting videos to watch. I wonder if you could have gotten away with just putting some Marvel Mystery oil or ATF down the plug holes to free up those rings without tearing the engine down. Let me know if you need your degenerate sons and nephews to wreck more Seadoos to give you more content.

Hi friend, when you connect the Candoo to another Sea Doo 3D that you have there, what is the air pressure reading with the engine off?
@SeadooRefurb2 ай бұрын
It reads extremely low. about 6 psi. Both of my machines read that low. I am guessing there is an issue with the candoo pro reading properly on that machine
@RodrigoCorsoSoares2 ай бұрын
@SeadooRefurb I have a 2005 3D RFI like yours, I also have the Candoo and the BUDS and in both the air pressure reading is lower than the real one. Here I have a reading with the engine off of 5.7 PSI. I believe that the ECU is programmed to display a simulated reading instead of the real one, I've had several problems with mine and I've fixed a lot of things on it, in your case the pressure is really low and this affects the air/fuel ratio pairs so the engine runs unevenly and stalls. Your problem is probably in the ECU.
@SeadooRefurb2 ай бұрын
@ that is my thought as well. I am trying to find a replacement but they are crazy expensive.
@RodrigoCorsoSoares2 ай бұрын
There are some tests you could do, have you tried disconnecting the TPS to check if the pressure remained low? Have you tried to test the resistance of all other sensors according to the reference in the sea doo maintenance manual?

The very thin pipe goes from the bottom of the air compressor and runs to the oil fill tube at the front of the machine. It just recycles excess oil from the bottom of the compressor.

Seadoo's product support really sucks. I have a GSX that would work if the dealer's coding machine could create a new key for it. Unfortunately, Seadoo has changed something and the coder they have will not work on the older models. I also have a '97 Seadoo Speedster boat which is in great shape but needs a new starter on one engine. Two dealers have told me they won't work on a boat that old. 12 years ago I damaged one of thrusters on this boat but no part were available from Seadoo. [the boat was only 15yrs old at that time] Fortunately I found a salvage dealer out in California who said he thought the thruster from another model of a jet ski would work on my speedster. . I got it and if fit except that it was 1/4 in shorter which didn't make any difference. I guess is that Seadoo expects everyone to just junk their boat and buy a new one after about 10 years. .
@SeadooRefurb3 ай бұрын
I went through the same thing with my 2011 Challenger a few years ago. I needed a simple navigation light switch and they told me the boat was vintage and no parts were available. (only 10 years old at the time !) That prompted me to sell the boat off as I was afraid at the time that if something major went wrong I would be toast !... Now I just stick to the 2 strokes. Lots of parts out there. (I am sure there are lots of parts for the 4 strokes as well )
