It truly is a completely unique area. Epic in scale with a theme that matches the anticipation of the looming climax

Would be nice if this game got a remaster with some reworked gameplay. Exploring the levels is chill, but also super slow. In a remaster there'd need to be faster movement speed, a fast travel option between areas, some collectibles to make exploring the levels worthwhile, and far less fights.

Just got all 73 achievements on Steam, and almost did a full 100%, but can’t complete all objectives on Well of Shadows and Armory Flux. Nice review! Appreciate that you took time to talk about the music. I agree completely with a couple points, which I couldn’t get out of my head: all regions needed more variance. I know we are on sand planet, but having a changing skybox would have done wonders, like the Mad Max game. No compass or minimal was unbelievably annoying. I hated having to open the kind of bad map every time it was looking for collectibles. Lastly, I do think each color energy beam should have been different, like Jessie’s gin from Control.

I think pokemon should make a mystical looking region the realistic sort of designs look cool but I'd love for a more fantasy aspect in some areas and I think that's what makes me drawn to scarlet

I was hoping after the introduction of Ultra Beasts in Sun and Moon they would have a Pokemon game in a fantasy setting. But maybe one day.

10 hours sounds a little low, maybe they sped things up for the remake? I'm pretty sure it feels longer on SNES at least, maybe not by a lot, but more like 15-20 hours, certainly for a first time playthrough anyway. Nice video.

As much as he probably doesn't want to be pigeon holed, I do want a Pseudoregalia 2. The idea of Sybil going from dream to dream to wake people up before "He" shows up, makes for endless sequel potential as well as aesthetic variation. Everybody has different dreams after all.

The Area Zero music is so soothing and it made Area Zero my official favorite place. I listen to the theme at least 10 loops (in a row)

There's a really easy spot to clip out of bounds here, and it almost looks like the devs put it there for people to find. It's somehow even more beautiful than area zero, just a black void with sparkles and white clouds, and a shallow ocean surrounding everything. Wild pokemon actually spawn back there, so shiny hunting is possible! I caught a shiny Iron Jugulis this way

What a well crafted review. With the well defined sections done in seamless manner. I am definitely going to play this game after watching your review. I was searching for a review like this. Because by default youtube algorithm only provides with mainstream reviews where critics don't even know what they are talking about. This review is done so well covering all the pros and cons of the game. Thank you Ryan:)

Commenting on this account too for algo reasons bcus this video deserves better. First off, I'm not usually a big fan of survival horror inventory management, but Alan Wake 2 won me over in that regard, so the way you described this definitely appeals to me. I also love the UI chat, because I think a lot of the time, well-themed UI is so vital to games like these that try to ground you in a sci-fi world while using a lofi art style.

@@burtbiggum499Yeah same, honestly, mistakes and errors are OK, even after checking out but, it's in the game, come on. Its the NAME of the PROTAGONIST. There's no real work behind this video. Its really unacceptable. I'm fairly certain at this point its just being either ChatGPT and/or someone who took """inspiration""" from other videos. The tone and the words used points to some ChatGPT being used. Very sad.

It’s funny… I never realized just how much Signalis and Parasite Eve share in the way of atmosphere and resource management. Signalis does the claustrophobic level design so well.

"blue fire" undeservedly flew completely under the radar, but it really scratches the same itch, for traversal based open world 3D action adventures. just at a much grander scale, with very fun combat, and tough, zelda-ish environmental platforming puzzles it's the definition of a hidden gem! please have a look, at least.

Went in blind, didn't look anything up, and just had a blast learning new techniques and finding my way through all the challenges and areas. I am definitely interested in seeing what else this dev might be cooking up.

Dude! I loved this! Firstly, your explanation of all the game sesign stuff was so clearly set out, and i love any game that communicates and teaches things that way. I also love the visual style of this game. Whether it was on pirpose or not, its visuals harken back to the late 90s games that created its genre. So, so cool.

Area zero’s track reminds me a lot of Harvastella’s like final area track the star cradle (I won’t give many spoilers) but it’s this huge otherworldly spot and if you play the game and get the special ending it’s so otherworldly
